- Azshara map (pre-Cataclysm)
Azshara is located in northeastern Kalimdor, a level 45-55 zone for players of both factions. It contains the ancient ruins of night elf cities from ages ago.
- Talrendis Point
Talrendis Point is the Alliance flight path to Azshara, located at the entrance of the zone from Ashenvale Forest.
- Shadowsong Shrine
Shadowsong Shrine is now inhabited by ghosts and banshee. The name Shadowsong is no doubt a reference to Maiev and her brother Jarod.
- Haldarr Encampment
The Haldarr encampment is named for the Haldarr satyr that populate the area.
- Valormok
Valormok is a Horde outpost located in Azshara. A Horde quest hub, it also contains the Horde flight path for Azshara.
- Southfury River Falls
The Southfury river cuts through the ravine that forms the border between Ashenvale and Azshara.
- Azshara Crater Battleground -- Alliance entrance
This unused location was rumored to be the Alliance entrance to the Azshara Crater battleground, which was never implemented. The flags and cave entrance are still visible and accessible, but go nowhere.

- Forlorn Ridge
The Forlorn Ridge cuts through the center of the lower Azshara peninsula, between the two entrances to the defunct battleground.
- Lake Mennar
Lake Mennar is the location of ancient night elf ruins -- and host to a small fleet of blue dragonkin.
- Ruined Reaches
The Ruined Reaches are along the southern edge of Azshara.
- Ruined Reaches -- Gnome building
This building is the home of the Gadgetsprings, who sell the schematic for the Deepdive Helmet.
- Spirit of Azuregos
The spirit of the blue dragon Azuregos can be found wandering the Ruined Reaches. Occasionally the real, attackable and easily-annoyed Azuregos can be found out here, too.
- Ruined Reaches - Cliff Walkers
Cliff giants roam the area here along with hippogryphs, and the land is sprinkled with a strange substance called "Azsharite." Some Azsharite looks oddly like figures frozen in terror.
- Ravencrest Monument
The ruins of a giant statue are all that remains of the Ravencrest Monument, which was built in honor of Lord Kur'talos Ravencrest, a hero of the War of the Ancients.
- Duke Hydraxis
Duke Hydraxis is a waterlord, and originally provided raiders with a way to douse the runes in Molten Core.
- The Great Sea -- landing pad
Far to the southeast, this landing pad was a marking point for Alliance players to use a flare for a quest.
- Rethress Sanctum
The Rethress Sanctum is a small naga settlement along the coast south of Ravencrest Monument.
- Bay of Storms -- Loramus Thalipedes
Loramus Thalipedes is a demon hunter stationed on a small island in the Bay of Storms. He assists players with the quest chain involving the Fallen Hero of the Horde.
- Bay of Storms -- Swirling Maelstrom
This spot in the Bay of Storms is where players summon Maws as part of the quest chain for the Scepter of the Shifting Sands.
- Scalebeard's Cave
This cave, located on a small island in the Bay of Storms is the home of Scalebeard -- a rare spawn turtle who is visible here.
- Hetaera's Clutch
This collection of rocks in the Bay of Storms is the home of Hetaera, a hydra.
- Temple of Arkkoran
This is the home of Arkkoran, the supposed god of the sea giants.

Arkkoran himself resides on the upper floor of the temple, and he's friendly to both factions.
- The Shattered Strand
The Shattered Strand lines the coast of the northern edge of the Bay of Storms.

At the very tip of the northeastern portion of the Bay of Storms rests the abandoned Tower of Eldara.
- Bitter Reaches
Along the upper portion of the northern peninsula are the Bitter Reaches.

Every now and again the Bitter Reaches are invaded by Thundering Invaders, led by Avalanchion.
- Legash Encampment
The Legash Encampment is named for the Legashi satyr that populate the area.
- Thalassian Base Camp
The Thalassian Base Camp may be full of blood elves, but they are hostile to both Alliance and Horde. They may be working for Kael'Thas...

- Jagged Reef
The Jagged Reef runs along the northern coast of Azshara.
- Ursolan
Ursolan, named after the Ancient Ursol, is a Timbermaw furbolg settlement.
- Timbermaw Hold
The great gates of Timbermaw Hold cut into the cliffs of Azshara, however whatever lies inside remains a mystery.

Bear's Head contains more Timbermaw villages and outposts.

In the center of the Ruins of Eldarath rests the Temple of Zin-Malor, a former night elven temple now home to the naga Warlord Krellian.
- Southridge Beach
Down below the Ruins of Eldarath, Southridge Beach runs along the west and south edge of the Bay of Storms.
