- Feralas Map
Feralas is a level 40-50 zone for both Alliance and Horde players, containing the dungeon Dire Maul. Feralas is also one of a handful of zones that were given "real" weather effects in Patch 1.10 -- when questing in Feralas, players will occasionally find themselves in the middle of a rainstorm.
- Thalanaar
Thalanaar is a tiny Alliance outpost that borders Thousand Needles to the east, containing one of two Alliance flight paths in the zone. This camp offers Alliance players easier access to both Thousand Needles, and eastern Feralas.
- Lower Wilds
The Lower Wilds are the first subsection players entering the zone via the eastern edge run into. The wilderness here contains primarily Ironfur Bears and Longtooth Runners.
- Lariss Pavilion
The Lariss Pavilion is a large, outdoor structure, home to Azj'Tordin. Azj'Tordin is a Highborne, one who disagreed with Prince Tortheldrin and subsequently left Dire Maul. On the way out the back door, an imp named Pusillin stole his book of incantations. Players that venture into Dire Maul and retrieve the book are rewarded with the Crescent Key that unlocks certain portions of Dire Maul.
- The Hidden Reach
A small door at the bottom of the Lariss Pavilion takes players into the Hidden Reach, a secret entrance into the East Wing of Dire Maul.
- Camp Mojache
South of the Lariss Pavilion is Camp Mojache, home of the only Horde flight path in Feralas. The Tauren village contains many quests for Horde players.
- Wildwind Lake
Camp Mojache overlooks Wildwind Lake to the south.
- Woodpaw Hills
Also to the south are the Woodpaw Hills, a lush area densely populated by the Woodpaw tribe of gnolls.
- Writhing Deep
Further south of the Woodpaw Hills is the Writhing Deep, the site of a silithid infestation containing two small hives.
- Woodpaw Den
To the west of Woodpaw Hills is Woodpaw Den, a small cavern high up on a hill that is home to a large number of Woodpaw gnolls.
- Gordunni Outpost
North of Camp Mojache and the Lariss Pavilion is the Gordunni Outpost. Tucked away in the northern hills, the outpost is home to a large group of Gordunni ogres.
- Grimtotem Compound
West of the Gordunni Outpost is the Grimtotem Compound. Not only have the Grimtotem settled in the hills of Feralas...
- Grimtotem Compound
They've also captures a huge number of Sprite Darters, tiny winged faerie dragons. Alliance players can find Kindal Moonweaver tucked away on a small outcropping of rock to the west of the cage. Kindal will send you on a long chain to free the Sprite Darters, which will reward Alliance players with a Sprite Darter pet. Horde players? You can just murder the Sprite Darters until an egg drops.
- Verdantis River
The Verdantis river weaves through central Feralas, and used to be one of the destinations needed for the Artisan fishing quest, a quest given to players by Nat Pagel so that they could learn Artisan fishing. This quest is no longer required to train, however players that complete it will still get a fishing pole from Nat Pagle himself.
- Ruins of Isildien
The Ruins of Isildien, once inhabited by night elves, are now overrun with more of the Gordunni ogres that are scattered throughout the zone.
- Ruins of Isildien
The main structure opens into a two-level building reminiscent of the Temple of the Moon in Darnassus.
- Frayfeather Highlands
The Frayfeather Highlands to the west are the territory of the Frayfeather hippogryphs. High in the hills, players can find nests containing Hippogryph Eggs to take to the Super Egg-O-Matic machine in Gadgetzan.
- Feral Scar Vale
Feral Scar Vale is the home to several yeti. It is also the resting place of the Homing Robot OOX-22/FE. This mechanical chicken requires an escort out of the zone - a quest that is notoriously long, difficult, and exceedingly annoying.
- High Wilderness
The High Wilderness is the name given to the western half of the main zone, full of gorillas, wind serpents, bears, and other creatures.
- Dire Maul Entrance
Tucked into the High Wilderness is the entrance to the dungeon Dire Maul.
- Dire Maul
Dire Maul is split into three wings, West, East, and North. The Western and Northern entrances require the Crescent Key to enter -- or a rogue with a high enough lockpicking skill. In the center of the main courtyard is an arena that flags players for "free for all" PvP much like the Gurubashi arena in Stranglethorn Vale. Every six hours, one of three rare mobs will spawn in the center of the arena that drop BoE blue items when killed.
- Forgotten Coast
The path along the High Wilderness eventually spilts, leading players into the western edge of Feralas, an area known as the Forgotten Coast.
- Dock to Sardor Isle
A small dock along the Forgotten Coast has a boat that will ferry players across the water to Sardor Isle, an island off the west coast.
- Feathermoon Stronghold
Sardor Isle is home to Feathermoon Stronghold, led by the night elf general Shandris Feathermoon, head of the Sentinel Army.
- Ruins of Solarsal
Sardor Isle also contains the Ruins of Solarsal, night elf ruins which have been overrun by naga.
- Shalzaru's Lair
The other island off the coast of Feralas is the Isle of Dread. Along the northern tip of this island is Shalzaru's Lair. Shalzaru is the leader of the Hatecrest tribe of naga.
- Shalzaru's Lair - Interior
Inside the lair, players will find Shalzaru himself.
- Isle of Dread
Further south of Shalzaru's Lair is the Isle of Dread proper, home to level 60-62 elite chimaera including Lord Lakmaeran. Lakmaeran, or rather his corpse, is part of the long chain to complete the Scepter of the Shifting Sands.
- Forgotten Coast Sea Giant
Also along the Forgotten Coast are a large number of ... fragrant Sea Giants.
- Gregan Brewspewer's Camp
Players taking the High Wilderness path north, instead of veering off to the Forgotten Coast, will run into Gregan Brewspewer's Camp. Gregan is part of a quest chain to restore the memory of Linken, a character in Un'goro Crater who has lost his memory.
- The Twin Colossals
One of the highlights of Feralas are the Twin Colossals, two massive mountains on the western side of the zone. At the base of the Western Colossal is a night elf named Marli Wishrunner who will teleport players to the top of the Eastern Colossal if asked. Players should be wary however...
- The Twin Colossals - top
At the top of the East Colossal is a night elf named Kalin Windflight who sells parachutes. For players without any means of slowfall, this is the only way down from the Eastern Colossal -- however, the parachute has a very short span on it, so timing must be perfect to avoid an unpleasant death from fall damage.
- Rage Scar Hold
Just east of the Twin Colossals, tucked away into the hills, is Rage Scar Hold, home to the most vicious yetis in the Feralas zone.
- Rage Scar Hold - interior
The Hold interior contains books, candles, and runes scattered about, leaving players to wonder if the yeti are studying magic ... or if the cave's unfortunate previous resident was a magic student.
- Oneiros
Northeast of the Twin Colossals is Oneiros, yet another set of night elf ruins. The name of this location may originate from the Greek myth of the Oneiroi, the sons of Hypnos, god of sleep. Appropriate, given the surroundings...
- Jademir Lake
Jademir Lake overlooks both Oneiros proper, and the middle island known as the Dream Bough.
- Dream Bough
Dream Bough is one of four known entrances to the Emerald Dream. The entrance is guarded by elite Green Dragonspawn, as well as two green drakes, Lethlas and Dreamroarer.
- Dream Bough - Taerar
The entrance to the Emerald Dream is visible here, along with one of the four Dragons of Nightmare. These dragons randomly spawn at each of the four Emerald Dream entrances. The dragon pictured above is Taerar, whose corporeal form has been shattered along with his sanity.
- Ruins of Ravenwind
To the west of the Dream Bough are the Ruins of Ravenwind. These ruins are now overrun with Northspring Harpies, as well as a young night elf named Shay Leafrunner, who Alliance players can escort back to her friend Rockbiter. Also in the area is Miblon Snarltooth, a gnoll that guards a small nursery of evoroot.
- Ruins of Ravenwind - Upper Hills
To the southwest of the Ruins, players can find mountain giants, including Shay's friend Rockbiter.
- Feralas exit into Desolace
The path through the zone ends here, at the entrance to Desolace. The half-orc Rexxar and his bear companion Misha used to walk the length of Desolace into Feralas, traveling down this very path and stopping at the base of the East Colossal. Horde players that sought him out for the Onyxia attunement chain that is no longer required often had a difficult time because Rexxar's path crossed three different zones.
