- Thori'dal, the Star's Fury
Obviously the drop every hunter will be hoping for, this is the first legendary ranged weapon and only the fifth/sixth take-away equippable legendary in the game (the others being Atiesh, Thunderfury, Sulfuras, and the Twin Blades of Azzzinoth). Click on to see the stats.
- Stats on Thori'dal
One thing that makes Thori'dal so desirable is that it does not use ammo, firing magical arrows instead. This explains its extremely high DPS, since it doesn't get a DPS boost from ammo, and the 15% increased ranged attack speed, which replaces a quiver effect. Yes, hunters, this means you don't have to use that last bag slot for a quiver any more. Yay more inventory spaces!
- Apolyon, the Soul-Render
WoWWiki notes that this has the highest top-end damage of any item in the game. And I like that they've realized we're going to ignore socket bonuses if they're hard to get, and just went ahead with three red sockets here. And look, there's that good ol' Sunwell haste stat!
- Helm of Burning Righteousness
More like Helm of Burning Ugly if you ask me. I know we're going to see even more helms with horns in Wrath of the Lich King, so could we take a break on them here? Anyway, this is clearly a fine choice for any healing paladin. Who doesn't mind looking like a doofus.
- Helm of Uther's Resolve
If you're a Paladin and protection is more your speed, Yrma can convert the previous item into this one for you for the fee of one sunmote. As an aside, I really like this pseudo-token system; it does a good job of allowing for different specs.
- Crown of Anasterian
I'm not sure that "crown" is really an apt name for this item. Also, it's just a recolor of the previous two items, and as such has the same annoying horns. But hey, good stats for a DPS warrior!
- Crown of Dath'Remar
And here is the tanking version of the previous item. Still doesn't look like a crown to me.
- Cowl of Gul'dan
For all you T6-level Elemental shamans, this is your hat. I like the look of this one a lot, actually, although it reminds me a bit more of Serpentshrine Cavern than of what we've been seeing out of SWP.
- Shroud of Chieftan Ner'zhul
And this one is for the healing shamans. But...um...didn't Ner'zhul become evil? I guess this is what he wore before that. For the full skinny on Ner'zhul and this item, check out our Phat Loot Phriday from a few weeks back.
- Duplicitous Guise
I'm sensing a trend here: Kil'jaeden clearly likes to collect hats. This one will do nicely for any rogue; it's also (according to one Wowhead commenter) the best helm out there for Enhancement shamans. But it looks so sad! I guess that's the duplicity: you will be happy at getting an awesome helm, but everyone will look at you and think you are sad.
- Mask of the Fur(r)y Hunter
I can't quite establish whether the name of this item is "Mask of the Fury Hunter" or "Mask of the Furry Hunter." Wowhead states the former; although it doesn't make much sense, it also isn't as funny (or ambiguous) as the latter, which you can see in this screen shot from MMO-Champ. Anyway, ferals, this transmutation of the previous item is for you.
- Cover of Ursol the Wise
And if you are a druid of the Restoration variety, you will desire this equally sad-eyed helm. Maybe this time it's sad because there is no spell haste on it (but I don't think spell haste would be as big a deal for druid healing anyway). Did you know Ursol was a bear? True story.
- Cover of Ursoc the Mighty
Ursoc was also a bear, and more "for fite", as Alamo might say, than his brother. So naturally (?), this one is for the Moonkins. Did I say Moonkin? I meant Mownkin.
- Handguards of the Dawn
Finally, we reach an item designed for my own particular class/spec of choice. Denied the glory of a Kil'jaeden hat, we get gloves instead. But the stats are awesome enough that I will forgive the loot gods; all the stat bases are fully covered here. Do want.
- Gloves of Tyri's Power
You other spellcasters may find it unfair that the version for healing priests is just a straight drop, but to get these gloves you have to exchange them for the cost of a Sunmote, and, well...I guess you're right. Decent caster gloves though, eh? WoWWiki informs me that Tyri is an alias of Tyryrgosa, member of the Blue Dragonflight and big fan of Kalecgos.
- Cowl of Light's Purity
Oh hey, priests get a helm after all! But now I'm kind of wishing we didn't, because the model on this is terrible. I guess that's why we can choose to hide our helms.
- Helm of Arcane Purity
Thus do we come to the end of our tour of Kil'jaeden's probable loot. Once again an exchange from the healy priest version, you DPS casters will, I'm sure, be anxious to get your gloves all over this piece, despite its obnoxious appearance. So what loot are you looking forward to? Let me know in the comments.
