- The first boss spawns
I love this shot. The people were freaking out, and almost no one attacked at first. It was as though Hordus summoned a demon to smite the crowd of beggars!
- TTR People
Lots of people on the TTR today.
- Battle from hell
3 tree druids vs. WoW Insider's team. Fun? Nope. Server crashed before it ended though, so I can say we were winning! hehehe.
- GM Clearwater under Mind Control
GM Clearwater duels WoW Insider's Adam Holisky, and is put under his Shadow Priest's Mind Control ability.
- GM Clearwater kills
GM Clearwater defeated WoW Insider's Alex Ziebart in a duel, and then /bows. You can see on Adam Holisky's combat log what Death Touch looks like.
- WoW Insider Arena Team
WoW Insider's Arena Team is ready for action! Alex, Adam, and Amanda M. are all standing at the hanging spot... not a sign of things to come at all! ;-)
- Deadly enchants
Many found it very difficult to get the enchants for their gear. Alex found it somewhat deadly. Also, "IMA TROLL RAWR"!
So I was riding along towards Sen'jin when I fell into Dalaran. Awestruck because none of us expected it, here we are trying to scramble in line for our photoshoot. Why am I always on the end anyway?
- Make me a blood elf
I want to be a blood elf too! Wait, I was. Did anyone tell him he is Horde and could have rolled one? I suppose you can't be just any class though.
- Captiva attacks!
Captiva rages upon Deathknell! Okay not really, but the effect of the giant bear roaming through the crowd was very impressive.
- Captiva's bear mount
Captiva may look peaceful here, but shortly thereafter began to stomp all over the crowd. Of course, no one died, but the giant bear could cover up half of the crowd with one step!
- Captiva up close
This is Captiva on a giant Amani Bear mount, with Pinkberry in the distance.
- Captiva love
Everyone is milling about Captiva as they are catching on about the GMs. I swear, each GM functioned as well as, or better than, the areas with the vendors as spots to increase the lag and draw as many players as possible.
- Chicken Battle
A courageous Blood Knight meets a GM's chicken in battle.
- Clearwater flies!
Clearwater, sporting a female draenei warlock form, soars above the crowd just to be cool. Or maybe, to lessen the claustrophobia.
- Where's Clearwater?
After dismounting, the not-so-giant giant gnome was swarmed. I believe Clearwater was in there but then again, who knows?
- Clearwater showing off
Clearwater using [Reigns of the Raven Lord]. It was the most inspiring moment for me to go farm a mount ever. Fortunately for my guildmates, laziness will probably take over.
- Clearwater's generosity
Eventually, Clearwater decided that everyone should have cool mounts. The hitch in this was targeting. After trying a lineup (weirdest thing ever), we convinced everyone who had a cool mount to back up, and we sort of went in waves. I ended up with a spectral tiger, but other mounts were given as well.
- GM Clearwater Dances
Draenei Warlocks really should be playable.
- Dealer Rashaad
Hordus spawned Dealer Rashaad just outside Deathknell, but he was too busy to comment.
- Deserted Undercity
The cities are completely empty, and eerily beautiful.
Hordus spawned Doomwalker for us, and it took me awhile to manage to get all of him in one screenshot. You can even spot me in the front, stuck in an odd posture after trying to hit him once, due to lag.
- Englewood #1
The WoW Insider crew wraps up its photoshoot with GM Englewood.
- Englewood #2
- Englewood #3
Alex contemplates the end of the stress test event, after GM Englewood's boot.
Oh Mojo, you brought joy to my day.
- GM celebrities
All of the Blizzard staff got quite a bit of lovin', even amid the begging. Or maybe the lovin' was a crafty form of begging...
- Gnome Priest
Thanks to GM Sarasota, Adam Holisky becomes the world's first gnome priest. Sort of.
- Spawning of the Highlord
I tried to hit him and spent the next five minutes running around in an aggressive stance. Silly lag!
- Hordus, Timbal, Captiva
Star-struck yet? This was in the beginning, before the server woke up and realized that GMs were dropping, and they were handing out goodies to boot.
- Oh, Hordus
We love Hordus. We got nothing, and yeah, we liked it. We cried inside, but we liked it.
- I feel the love
No description needed really.
- Lord Kazzak: In the face
It took me awhile to get this angle, but it took the crowd awhile to down him.
I'm not even sure Hordus was in Orgrimmar at this point.
- Lord Kazzak and AOE
It was interesting watching Kazzak fight. It is probably the lag, but often he looked like he was just standing there getting angrier and angrier, occasionally sweeping his giant weapon down, only to stand perplexed that it did not lift and throw most of the crowd in one sweep.
- Kazzak going down
As he prepares to die, Lord Kazzak takes one last breath and casts his eyes to the heavens, before dying face-first in the muddy slope.
- Lord Kazzak, brooding.
I like to think that here, Kazzak is considering whether or not to squish us all like bugs, or swat us away with his stick.
- Final portrait
This moment was a very serene end to our hectic last hour. Immediately after receiving my spectral tiger, I was whisked away to Dalaran to meet with Englewood, thrown, killed, and then ready to pose for our After shot. Again, I had a bad angle, to I focused a bit on my pretty tiger, although the scenery in behind was just beautiful.
- Poor Hordus
After the went down, Hordus was a normal-sized Moonkin. Maybe his magical powers crashed too?
- Swift Zulian Tiger
Mounts were handed out at random throughout the day, but some people were just lucky and got one of the first few. It was definitely something seeing the first rare mounts appear!
- Orgrimmar pre GMs
After wondering what was happening in Orgrimmar, I arrive to a fairly empty city. Not as empty as Undercity, mind you, but definitely not happening. This of course was before the GMs arrived.
- This is Pinkberry.
If Pinkberry had antics, I missed them. /sad face
- Poor Timbal
Riding sullenly behind Captiva after a good /cry, Timbal has an admittedly cool, but tragically dwarfed, war bear. Way to steal his thunder. I hope you bought him cookies, Captiva!
- Encounter with Englewood
The definitive highlight of the day was our private encounter with Englewood. As I was on the end, I had an odd angle, but it worked. Yes, next time, I will remember to make my own name visible.
- Server maintenance
People were actually begging for a server restart. Within ten minutes, we began getting notices that we would get one. Then well, the 60 minute timeframe was dropped, and people went wild.
- Hordus having fun
Hordus definitely took some sadistic pleasure in his GM super powers. Well, who wouldn't? Heck, I might have been worse!
- Timbal cries
Why is Timbal crying? My guess is that he is sad because Captiva's Amani Bear sincerely dwarfs his.
Deathknell, just before the first GMs started appearing like the machines in the latest War of the Worlds flick.
Well really now. At least Mojo was a trooper. What on earth was he up to anyway?
This is me desperately trying to get a screenshot of Vaneck being hounded.
- This is us doing well in arena
Yep we did a very good job of losing. Note the old-school action bars; the TTR is one basic animal.
- Organizing a portrait
Here we are trying to organize a Before shot. I think Adam was back and forth trying to set up our live blog, and I was discovering that being on the end was going to mean that my angle was bad. It was up to Adam, who eventually pushed Alex over a bunch to squeeze into the middle.
