- Step 1
Gather your supplies. The high gloss acrylic spray is optional. If you are buying new Sculpey, try to find clay in the colors you need so you don't have to mix them.
- Step 2
Pinch off some white and blue clay. Knead the clay together to make a light blue color. Start with a little bit of blue and add to it if necessary. Be sure to get enough for the head, hands, feet and belly.
- Step 3
Wash your hands. This will prevent the colors from mixing. Knead the brown and white clay in order to make a light tan color. You will need enough for two horns.
- Step 4
Pinch off enough of the blue to make a head. Roll the clay between your hands to make a nice ball shape. Wash your hands. In order to get a horn shape with the tan clay, you'll want to roll it between your hand and finger, concentrating on one end. Use the picture as a guide.
- Step 5
Curve the tan pieces into a shape similar to the horns in the picture. If you wrap it half way around your finger and then flip the end up, it makes it a bit easier.
- Step 6
Make a marshmallow-shaped body with the white clay about the same size as the head. Make four even sized small balls for the arms and legs. Then make four tiny balls for the arm and leg bottoms.
- Step 7
Flatten out the blue pieces and gently squeeze them onto the white leg/arm pieces.
- Step 8
Make another small blue piece with the remaining clay and flatten it out (fairly thin) and put it over the middle of the body. This is the belly.
- Step 9
Attach the head to the body with a little pressure. Try not to squeeze too much.
- Step 10
Flatten out a small piece of white clay and use your clay knife (or toothpick) to cut little triangle shaped pieces out of the bottom. This will be the beard.
- Step 11
Press the beard onto the belly and face. You can flatten it out or leave the edges sharp.
- Step 12
Gently attach the remaining body pieces. Make sure the feet are in the center and are wide enough for the base of the body or he won't stand up. Push the arms up a bit towards the face.
- Step 13
Make two tiny black balls for eyes. Gently press them onto the face.
- Step 14
Preheat the oven to 275(F). Put the yeti on a cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes. It will be super hot when it's done, so try to refrain from touching until it's cooled off.
- Step 15
Spray the yeti with the high gloss acrylic spray. You can omit this step if you'd prefer a matte finish.
