Nov 12th 2009 7:22PM So that's, what, two terrible ports in a single week?
Good job Infinity Ward. You guys sure know how to fail.
Jul 25th 2008 12:35AM God forbid hunters have to do more than just stand there pressing a few buttons. Gimme a break, hunters are fine.
Dec 27th 2007 12:40AM If you need help leveling any class to level 5 clearly this game is too hard for you...
...and it's not a hard game.
Dec 20th 2007 7:16PM Once upon a time, in TK, my old guild was clearing the trash on the way to Void Reaver to take their first attempts at killing him. We were skipping A'lar. So we're outside A'lar's room to kill the trash birds, and we send a hunter in with the intent to pull birds back to us. So we say, "ok hunter, go pull a bird, we're ready."
Hunter goes in. "OK incoming!"
Then the whole raid starts taking aoe fire damage. People die VERY quickly. We're like, WTF?
Then we look in our combat log. Which bird do you think our noob hunter decided to pull? That's right, the level ?? one flying overhead. He pulled A'lar. :)
Sep 2nd 2007 4:36AM "But hey, at least they have the Avenger and upcoming Journey to look forward to!"
Because yeah, the Dodge Avenger is totally a car worth looking forward to? I had the misfortune of having been given one as a rental car about two weeks ago. That car is not going to be avenging anything, any time soon...the handling sucked, the engine droned, and the car was completely lacking in any kind of character and personality. But at least it made me appreciate my WRX more when I got back from leave!
Sep 2nd 2007 4:33AM Fosterdad, you are a good example of why the rest of the world thinks that we Americans are idiots. The European car enthusiasts will be far too busy driving cars that can go fast in the twisties to care about yet another American car that can only accelerate in a straight line. There's more to motorsports and fun driving than a dragstrip. So tell you what...just as an example, why don't you go read up on the Mazda Miata, and find out exactly why it's such an awesome car. When you can explain it to me, then you will be qualified to hold an opinion on cars. Until then, go back to masturbating over NASCAR and being a stupid-ass redneck.
Calling the Europeans wimps was a nice touch though. I mean, it's not like they have seen the devastation of two wars fought on their home soil in the last century or anything, right?
Aug 9th 2007 1:28PM When you're packing 650 ponies, no one can talk shit about you being aggressive with your styling.
Jun 20th 2007 2:26AM Man, Gazoo, you need to step outside. Breathe some air. Get out of your parent's basement and realize there are way more important things to care about than some raid boss in an MMO.
Let me break it down for you. The hardcore raider is the smallest minority of WoW players out there. Blizzard has already catered to this minority WAY TOO MUCH. The other 90% of the player base is getting pissed and leaving (not all at once obviously, but it's happening.) Blizzard is paying attention for once. Hence, attunements removed.
Oh and by the way...attunement to BWL was a joke. Attunement to AQ40? Oh wait, there wasn't one. Attunement to Naxx? Also a joke. And yet..."noob" guilds weren't skipping MC to go straight to BWL.
Quoting a poster on the official forums RE: reasons it's a good change:
#1 Off spec DPS was cock blocked, forced to respec, or forced to be babied through an instance they litterally could not do well. (*Seriously...5 man heroics is NOT a raid. CC is heavily involved in some heroics yet rarely touched on in raid settings. The builds that benefit 5mans do not neccessarily benefit raids and vice versa)
#2 It over emphasized tanks. It is utterly rediculous to have 3-5 people responsible for running every other friggin member though the requirements AND hold a regular raiding schedule.
#3 Blocked alts. Woe onto you if you got sick of your character...for you have no choice...you invested so much time/effort/gold getting him attuned you have no choice but to play it. Woe onto your guild if they were short on healers or a specific class for a fight, no easily logged into alts to help the guild progress.
But whatever. Gazoo is a loser, it's obvious. Myself? My account's not active right now. This change makes me think about reactivating it because, for once, Blizzard is listening. Not to the elitist assholes who don't matter, but to the actual playerbase. The rep requirements and attunement process was really what made me groan at the thought of continuing to level my 64 warlock to 70, and I don't even need to comment on the sad state of affairs for the shaman class (my main is a 70 shaman that I never meant to be a main healer...and yet the only way I can progress is resto...boo.)
Jun 12th 2007 9:57AM AV *is* unbalanced for Horde. The imbalance doesn't make it impossible to win but it's definitely harder. Here's the problems I see:
The bridge. Yes, that one, in Alliance territory. It's an awesome choke point that slows us down a lot (assuming we make it past stormpike, there's no question that GY is a lot harder to take than the Frostwolf GY is.) Our equivalent chokepoint is IB GY...however, that chokepoint more often than not ends up working against us. As soon as IB GY is capped, rezzers are forced to our starting tunnel. When that happens, we now have to ride past the now-Alliance-held IB GY, and more often than not a handful of Alliance players camping there can easily send us right back to the tunnel. (I *HATE* THAT DAMN TUNNEL.)
The Alliance base is much better laid out as well. Towers are placed more strategically and Horde invaders are pelted with arrows that hit pretty hard given what they are.
I've been on a battlegroup where Horde *ALWAYS* lost AV...hell, before the whole cross-realm battlegrounds thing kicked in, I got to full exalted in AV without seeing a SINGLE win. I've also been on a battlegroup where Horde almost always won. But even on that battlegroup, Horde wins took substantially longer than Alliance wins.
May 29th 2007 10:16AM It's quite simple, really. If you want those hybrid classes to continue filling the much-needed healing role, you'll toss them a bone every once in a while. I'm resto for raiding, but do you think for a second I would be putting myself through the utter boredom (or stress, when shit hits the fan) of healing if there wasn't a chance in hell for me to get gear for the enhancement spec that I prefer to play as?
