Jan 11th 2010 11:39AM As a recently hacked player I now understand the importance of authenticaters. Shipping one with every box is a fantastic idea, I got one as soon as I got my account back and never intend to do without one.
Thankfully Blizz were more than helpful with me.
Jun 4th 2009 7:11PM Interesting challenge, more battles like this would rock.
Jul 27th 2007 12:06PM Obligatory comment to get me a free mount.
Have had a little giggle at the amount of new accounts this has prolly generated.

"If you can dodge a ball, you can dodge an axe..."
Jul 5th 2007 10:37AM What I found useful was when running to a new zone to die as soon as I zone in, then res at the spirit resser.
9 out of 10 times the SR is right beside your town, allowing you to get the FP and cuts out an irritating amount of dodging the locals.
Gonna have to remember the D/C Trick, that could be handy when I have no friendly warlocks handy.

I fail to see your point regarding healers. The question was what was the best DPS class, I'm failing to see how a healing class can equate into this.
My assumptions were picked to make it easier on myself to form an opinion. I didn't have to worry about facing (for rogues), spell knockbacks (for casters) and range issues (for classes with pet tanks) and allowing the class to pop their full potential DPS.
Yes the point of the game is that everyone can do something, even the healers. But the point of this discussion was Best DPS class.
Just out of curiousity, if forced to pick what would you say is the best?
Jun 30th 2007 6:54AM Previous posters have hit the nail on the head when they say that it's extremely situational.
I'm going to make a few assumptions with my opinon.
1 - Mob is being tanked, tank is generating equal agro to DPS class.
2 - No Debuffs or Buffs are in effect other than ones the class can produce.
3 - No spells or effects are active other than ones the class can provide.
With the above conditions I would find it hard to imagine anyone outdamaging a Warlock. With pet damage, dots and the pure hurt that Shadowbolt creates add into that the ability to get back mana as is needed and IMO it's a clear winner.
Only one that would come close would be a rogue, Combat maces with Dragonspince, Blackout, Dragonmaw, AR, Blade Flurry and Abacus (current set up of our highest DPS rogue) is Damn hard to match, the sheer amount of attacks he's getting off is scary.
In anyother environment I would have to go with hunter. A pet tank, ability to heal said tank, debuffs to reduce damage dealt to pet, ability dump agro and consistently high white damage is just to much of an advantage.
Hmm, this turned into an essay, sitting bored in work :P
In conclusion. With a Tank Warlock/Rogue. Without a Tank Hunter.
Jun 29th 2007 9:45AM Can't help but notice the majority of complaints mention that groups need a resser and a healer.
In all honesty how many times have you been in a group (esp for heroics) where you have had less then 2 class capable of healing? Nearly every group I've been in has had 1 dedicated healer and a hybrid class (there are 3 of them after all).
They bring to much to the board to not be utilised. In heroics bosses can have damage spikes or sporadic AoE's that are beyond 1 healer, hell even in normal 5 mans when a party isn't over geared 1 healer can have problems.
Just thought I would chime in again :)
Jun 29th 2007 8:26AM Cosmos was the first modpack I ever downloaded, and I am so glad it was. I wouldn't touch it with a barnpole now, but for someone starting out it gives you a great idea of what potential modding your UI has.
Self Cast, Cooldown Timers, Co-ords for minimap (Lifesaver!), Damagemeters and other features I couldn't play without (how sad is that..)were introduced to be because of Cosmos. And for that I love it.
Jun 29th 2007 8:16AM Honestly it is fine the way it is. It gives another way of ressing a healer without relying on a Soulstone.
Or it can obviously be used to res someone that normally wouldn't be soulstoned (ie a DPS class or someone in an Offtank role.)
While, yes, there are times that I have wished that Druids could res OOC I've found it more useful (in a raid environment more so) to have access to an IC res.
