Breakfast Topic: The easy/hard grind {WoW}

Apr 14th 2008 3:49PM Any caster mob is cake for a rogue. Swing, swing, kick, swing dead. Repeat all day if necessary.

Forum post of the day: Dreadful DPS declarations {WoW}

Mar 18th 2008 1:38PM I'm a hunter and you wouldn't believe how many moron pallies insist on giving me Salv.

Hardcore Casual finds himself "stuck in easy mode" {WoW}

Mar 13th 2008 10:44PM Everyone says WoW is an easy game, but the fact is 98% of people still suck at it.

People with 1400 arena ratings say WoW is easy. So why do they fail at it?

My guildmates who can't crack 1000 DPS in SSC say WoW is an easy game. If it's so easy, how come you are still failing at it?

Being mediocre is easy, sure. It's obviously not that easy to actually be good at the game because very few people are.

Scattered Shots: Your first levels as a new Hunter {WoW}

Feb 14th 2008 9:03PM It may be faster and easier. However, if you don't have the experience of knowing your role in a 5-man by the time you're 70, good luck finding a PUG that won't boot you.

Nobody learns anything in low level pugs. They are either massive retard fests or full of level 70 alts. Usually the former.

I actually did do a fair bit of instancing when I levelled my hunter. I tanked 90% of the time (with my pet) because no "tanks" knew how to do it.

That didn't make it any less of a waste of time, I only really did it so I could see what the old world instances are like. They are so easy you don't learn a thing, a healing priest can tank a loose mob for over 30 seconds, there's no punishment for people being terrible.

Scattered Shots: Your first levels as a new Hunter {WoW}

Feb 14th 2008 5:32PM The rewards are rarely worth the cost. Any gear obtained in pre-70 instances is outlevelled fast, and depending on your group could be 2-4 hours of wasted time.

It's much faster and easier to just grind out levels by questing, and buy gear from the AH. Any class that can kill a non-elite mob solo can do this and would be better off doing it.

Scattered Shots: Your first levels as a new Hunter {WoW}

Feb 14th 2008 4:54PM Any class can level to 70 without going inside an instance just as easily. The game is designed that way.

A small defense skill change in 2.4 could herald larger things {WoW}

Feb 10th 2008 4:10PM This is the dumbest post I've ever read.

Ready Check: Thou hath no raid spot {WoW}

Feb 8th 2008 5:35PM Actually the reason they bring hunters and rogues is for DPS, not misdirect or sap. Misdirect isn't even necessary on most fights.

As much as the writer thinks "any class, when played well, can do phenomenal individual DPS.", that's simply not true if everyone is playing properly.

If anyone is outDPSing your hunters, rogues and warlocks, then your hunters, rogues and warlocks suck and need to be replaced.

The problem for pure DPS classes is that a lot of raid leaders don't understand the value of good DPS. It's amazing how many previously unwinnable fights end up being inexplicably won when they don't drag on for 5 minutes longer than they should.

Breakfast Topic: The Zul'Aman speed bump {WoW}

Feb 7th 2008 10:27AM We downed the first 4 bosses in ZA without anything more than Kara and Badge gear.

The people who say they can't just aren't any good.

Extended maintenance and you {WoW}

Jan 30th 2008 10:12PM For oceanic players on oceanic servers, downtime happens in the middle of prime-time. 8pm-10pm to be exact.

It's disgraceful that blizzard cares so little about us that they don't care that they completely wipe out 1 night of WoW a week.

Oh and we have 400ms latency too. Fuck you, Blizzard.
