PAX East 2011: Firefall, the non-MMO MMO {Massively}

Mar 17th 2011 3:59PM I don't care what kind of game they want to classify it as, I want to play it. After seeing a preview video of gameplay on this title I been waiting to hear more on it. Glad to see you guys will be covering it. This is the first I have even heard of them being at pax east. That's a shame because in my opinion this game deserves some attention.

The vid I saw it looked like a small group was out collecting resources and instead of just clicking on "nodes" and trying to avoid mobs they called in an extractor from space and then defended it from a zerg while it collected resources. Looked like a lot of fun and a good way to get people that might not be into crafting/resource collection involved.

[UPDATED] Enter to win one of 20 APB: Reloaded closed beta keys from Massively! {Massively}

Mar 16th 2011 7:48PM I enjoyed the original despite its flaws and I can't wait for this title to come back. Looking forward to the new zone the most!

The Daily Grind: Would you play a motion sensor-controlled MMO? {Massively}

Mar 3rd 2011 3:16PM The motion controls don't interest me in the slightest. In my opinion motion controls aren't here to stay and if they do stick around it will be for a small niche of the industry. I just can't see how it would ever become the standard controller. To be honest I feel kinda bummed so many resources have been used to get what we have currently, it seems like such a waste.

I wonder if this motion control thing would even have legs if the Wii didn't sell like hotcakes. I don't know many gamers with a Wii unless they have kids but most of their parents and/or grandparents have one. They should probably stick with the children and older more casual demographic for motion control games rather than trying to intice mmo players. Like others mentioned, maybe when the tech is further along but for now I'll stick with my trusty keyboard and mouse.

Rumor: APB buyout apparently nearing the "light at the end of the tunnel" [Updated] {Massively}

Oct 25th 2010 7:47AM I just uninstalled this game the other day finally. Glad to see it still has interested buyers. I enjoyed the game despite it's flaws and look forward to it's return.

Anti-Aliased: Don't hate the playa, hate the developa pt. 2 {Massively}

Aug 19th 2010 4:07PM Great article! As a person who likes some of the less popular mmo's I often find myself wading through these kind of comments. Maybe it's because I at one time looked into the game devleopment field that even if I don't care for a title I still respect it and the hard work that created it.

I have to salute you guys and gals in the game industry. You work long hours for mediocore pay and in a very competitive field. It's a tough career path. Just remember some of us do know how tough you guys got it despite how many blathering idiots on the web say otherwise. ;-)

Choose My Adventure: Star Wars Galaxies wrap-up {Massively}

Aug 19th 2010 11:27AM I recently returned (thanks to this article series) after leaving the game when NGE was announced. I came back to a lvl80 wookie Jedi with no lightsaber and was a little overwelmed with what to do at first. So I rolled a fresh Jedi to level 28 or so until I felt comfortable again. A little research and one "lightsaber kit" from the bazaar later and I'm in action on my lvl 80. I'm now almost 86 and have been enjoying my journey so far. Now I just need to figure out what to do with all these crates of repair kits I had lying around LOL!

As a returning vet I am glad I gave this title another shot. Despite it's flaws I still enjoy this game quite a bit. I originally thought I would only check it out for the one month but I'm planning on subscribing now so I can finish hitting 90 and then switching that fresh lvl 28 Jedi over to bounty hunter to try out some ranged combat and I might even try to make one a master pilot. Not to mention I would love to get my own stormtrooper gear and check out the pet system. Plenty of things to do to keep me busy for quite awhile.

APB's Human Avatar project is complete {Massively}

Aug 4th 2010 11:48AM I'm surprised he got a real piercing and tattoo when they could of been faked so easy. I'm down for some dressing up and playing wih guns and hair can grow back but the tat and piercing would be too much for me. Still a pretty cool contest and it does a good job of showing the power of customization they have in APB.

SDCC 2010: A SWTOR Managing Editor who doesn't solve problems by killing all the kittens {Massively}

Jul 26th 2010 11:40AM After watching the panel video I could really tell Mr. Freed was passionate about his work and he seemed like a really approachable guy. It was great to see more from him here today in this interview. Thanks Massively! Can't wait for this game!
