Verizon iPhone chatter is getting harder (than usual) to ignore {Engadget}

May 7th 2010 4:06PM Not going to happen.

Verizon's LTE network that will be available this year will be for data only. Do you really think Apple is going to invest the time/effort to support a transitionary period at a CDMA provider when they're just going to be GSM-based in another year or so?

I just can't see Apple being seriously interested in making a phone with a CDMA chipset for voice and a GSM-based chipset for data, just to have to change it in a year to the GSM-based LTE standard that AT&T is also going to. Why not just wait for AT&T to launch their LTE network, at which point it will be much easier to roll out a Verizon version of the phone with the same hardware?

Setting up your 3G service on the iPad 3G {TUAW.com}

Apr 29th 2010 6:09PM @Danny: GPS can locate your position down to a few feet. I'm not sure what you mean by "better than 3G", but this comment was referring to the fact that the iPad 3G has full-on GPS whereas the WiFi-only models do not.

First NYC iPad line sitter also camped for first iPhone: a legend is born (video) {Engadget}

Apr 1st 2010 3:18PM I've never heard someone speak so eloquently before. This guy should write press releases or replace Jobs on stage at the keynotes:

"You know, you just click it on. You don't have to open it up and you know, go through, you know, go through everything."

iPad fever: What didja get? {TUAW.com}

Mar 12th 2010 11:15AM I picked up the 16GB Wi-Fi + 3G model. I figured I didn't want to get stuck in a situation where I could have really used 3G and then been without it. I wouldn't have done this if I had to get a wireless contract, but for just a little extra to have the ability to use 3G if I ever need it I figured it was worth it.

Man in the middle attacks circumventing authenticators {WoW}

Feb 28th 2010 12:51PM This isn't really that much scarier than any other piece of keylogger or malware targeted toward WoW players. It doesn't exploit any flaws in Blizzard's systems or the authenticator in general. It is still a result of poor security and actions by the user of the computer involved.

If you don't properly secure your computer and prevent it from becoming infected, no amount of extra security like an authenticator will protect you. As great as authenticators are, I think that they don't treat the actual problem and likely cause people to become more lax with their computer's security. With that said, everyone should still have one.

I'm glad that this WoW.com article isn't the typical scaremongering that we'd see on some other sites were something like this to happen. Alex took a very realistic and professional stance in writing this and didn't take an initial Blizzard-bashing stance like we've seen happen before.

Macworld 2010: TUAW goes to the mothership {TUAW.com}

Feb 10th 2010 9:08AM Yeah, I checked on eBay. Some cool shirts, but nobody seems to have that hoodie I want. :(

Macworld 2010: TUAW goes to the mothership {TUAW.com}

Feb 10th 2010 8:20AM Super jealous. I'd love to grab one of those hoodies in the 10th picture on the left. Anyone live near this place wanna buy one for me and ship it? I'll cover all costs and even a little extra for your trouble!

iPad or Kindle: will our wallets decide? {Engadget}

Jan 28th 2010 1:26AM The Kindle 2 and Kindle DX run on AT&T's 3g network, not EV-DO.
