How lag forced me to play a little differently {WoW}

Apr 20th 2011 10:54PM I had to change the way I play because of lag as well. At the end of last year my ISP oversold their capacity so now connecting to anything that required any sort of good latency was not an option. I'll be moving soon (crosses fingers) so I may make a return but in the meantime I've been enjoying my casual existence of leveling alts, Archeology, and guild chat.

Shifting Perspectives: Tanks, bribes, and player behavior, part 2 {WoW}

Apr 20th 2011 11:24AM "remove the [tank] VP cap and, in my view, lots of 'casual' tanks will pop-up reducing significantly the queue times for dps"

Wow, that is such a bad idea I don't even know where to begin. What your suggesting would even go so far as to adversely affect raiding and how raiders gear up when new raids come out.

Encrypted Text: Dissecting rogue stats {WoW}

Apr 6th 2011 2:47PM That's not actually a bad thing, at that point every one of your allocated stat points is being used to its fullest. At 17.01%, you have some stat points sitting at a lower value than their potential.

Apr 6th 2011 2:18PM Sub isn't "bad". Yes, it's potential DPS is behind the other two but not by an amount that makes in unviable for PvE. The thing about Sub though is that the rotation and other variables involved makes it damn near impossible to pull off with any degree of consistency. Add to this that if your rotation gets smacked down in Assassination or Combat, you can recover in short order but with Sub it's like when you get a battle rez (ie feeling generally as weak as a newborn).

World of Warcraft Magazine issue 4 preview now available {WoW}

Mar 25th 2011 9:24AM I've been talking about Blizzard and Future for months now.

I won't be resubscribing. The publishing schedule has been awful. Issues 1-3 were of good quality but Issue 4 looks like it was slapped together at the last minute to get something out. Behind the scenes at BlizzCon six months ago? The same "Making of the Deathwing Cinematic" we saw in the Collecter's Edition and other places? Really?

The Queue: Digging for questions edition {WoW}

Mar 16th 2011 11:44AM That depends, are you looking for a casual, more comfortable seat? One that gives the most room? One that gets you to your destination a few seconds faster? Do your friends have the same goals? Do the busdrivers rules allow you to take any available set? And on and on and on...

You can't theorycraft without a goal and clearly defined guidelines. Enjoy your day off and read the FAQ first next time. =D

The Queue: Digging for questions edition {WoW}

Mar 16th 2011 11:38AM That's an entirely subjective question.

Just ask yourself this, "Am I having fun playing WoW?" If the answer is yes, then don't worry if Blizzard has "catered to casuals." If the answer is no, then go find something to play that you'll enjoy more than WoW.

Officers' Quarters: Be careful what you promise {WoW}

Feb 21st 2011 9:29AM "Nothing will shut up complaints from members faster than asking if any of them can actually help you to solve the problem."

There's a lot of truth in that. It's certainly not universal but it's true enough.

Heart Story: One player's quest for iconic affection {WoW}

Feb 14th 2011 2:38PM That was quite sweet and a good read. =D

Around Azeroth: Transparent motivations {WoW}

Feb 1st 2011 10:57AM His character has some sort of transparency affect. Then he took a screenshot of his character and cut the background out from around it (replacing it with a white background). What you see is the background behind his characters outline and transparent details.
