The Queue: I need to read more {WoW}

Mar 28th 2012 1:37PM I wish there was a way to do that again. My main's armory pose makes it look like her shoulderpad is very tasty. NOM NOM NOM

Mar 27th 2012 3:27PM It was a bit jarring to me, too. I was exalted with the Zandalari back in Vanilla WoW, and they yelled to the whole of Stranglethorn that I was their hero. Now I have to fight them? I do understand, trolls will be trolls and all that, so I'm not crying lorelol, but it was a little disconcerting.

Mar 27th 2012 3:20PM I have a B.A. in English, and I'd be more than happy to help them proofread their quests! Hint hint, Blizzard, gimme that beta key now... /sigh

In Cataclysm beta I did submit some bug reports for that sort of thing: typos liek tihs, missing words, the wrong kind of "too/to/two", etc. I didn't go overboard because I figured someone would proof the text eventually but some were so bad that I couldn't help myself. Also, some could potentially be confusing and make it more difficult to do the quest.

Bottom line, though...beta is beta.

Breakfast Topic: What's the one thing you can't wait to find out about Mists? {WoW}

Mar 27th 2012 2:59PM LOL, ignore that stray "4." at the bottom. I started numbering stuff and then changed my mind.

Mar 27th 2012 2:57PM One thing? Just one? I can't pick just one thing! :(

The top of my list has to be lore reveals, though! I'm eagerly waiting for news on the whole Jaina/Theramore situation. I'm also really looking forward to any advancement of the plot for night elves, draenei, blood elves, worgen, tauren, dwarves, etc... Yes, we're getting a new race but I'm more emotionally invested in the old ones, and I want to see their plots develop after the upheavals of Cataclysm, changes in leadership, etc. I also don't want to see the original dragonflights drop off the radar completely now that the Aspects are de-powered.

So yeah, lore is my primary interest. However, I'm also eagerly lapping up any tidbit on new pets and mounts, since I collect both. The pet battle system doesn't excite me that much but I'm reserving judgment until I can play it myself. Regardless, I will still collect pets.

I'm also enjoying peeks at new armor sets. With Transmog I'm even more interested than before to see what new looks they can come up with. (Though my bank, even with void storage, winces at the thought...)

And of course, I'm interested in mage developments, since that's my main.

*coughcoughandIamstillwaitingformybetainvitecoughcough* Hmm, 'scuse me, allergies, you know...

The Queue: Come to me, Pandaria {WoW}

Mar 26th 2012 7:25PM Some of my guildies say "mee-lee" instead of "may-lay" and it always makes me wince.

My favorite, though, was guy I ran into in a pug once who pronounced "brazier" like "brassiere"! LOL

Breakfast Topic: Mists of Pandaria beta's lack of NDA {WoW}

Mar 21st 2012 11:30AM I'm torn. I was in Cataclysm beta, and my primary goal was to level through the goblin and worgen starting zones at least once and to explore the new world. I did explore/test the new starting zones thoroughly, and ran through Silverpine, Azshara, Westfall and Darkshore for good measure. I took my main through Hyjal but left the other new 80+ zones untouched.

The rest of the time I just explored Kalimdor and the EK. I found a number of places where I should have been able to fly and couldn't (including, bizarrely, right over an abandoned cart in the middle of Tanaris). Fortunately I was on my mage main so suddenly having my dragon disappearing from under me wasn't fatal--as long as I was paying attention. There were also weird little pockets here and there where the chat channels would change to a completely different zone.

I had fun exploring and reporting those glitches, but my main motivation was being able to take all the time I wanted just flying around and seeing the new landscapes. I was afraid if I waited until Cataclysm went live I'd spend so much time exploring that I'd fall way behind my friends and guildies with leveling my main. It worked out perfectly, since when Dec. 7th rolled around I could just hop right into Vashjr and start leveling without the temptation to explore all the cool new 1-60 zones.

Without that reasoning this time around, I don't know how much I want to spoil myself for Pandaria. My favorite thing in the game is exploring new places, checking out every nook and cranny, and since there's just the 85-90 areas that are new, I'd rather wait to experience it on my main when it goes live. Then again, the temptation will be huge... I imagine I will probably do the first zone and then rein myself in and wait for the rest. I'll also hit up the Wandering Isle because I love lowbie stuff and I'm sure I'll roll (ha! monk pun) at least one or two Pandaren alts, so one more time through won't hurt anything, and I can help test that zone inside and out.

Mists of Pandaria: Zones and questing {WoW}

Mar 19th 2012 3:23AM "The Alliance runs into the jinyu, a wise, elder race of koi fish-people, and earns their trust by assisting them in their fight against the hozen, a wild, dim-witted race of monkey-men who, coincidentally, are recruited by the Horde. "

This is the opposite of what I remember from Blizzcon. I really really hope this is true because goldfish (and koi) are my favorite animal and monkeys are among my LEAST favorite, and I play Alliance. I was really dreading having to help monkeys kill koi!
