Sep 2nd 2008 6:40PM About bloody time we heard something.
Still disagree with the comment on the Shadow Tree, it needs a lot more work, and that Misery nerf is a crying shame.
Sep 2nd 2008 6:34PM The hardest part is Misery doesnt proc on Mind Sear... so I get to choose Hit Cap... or miss by 3%... or dot everything before Mind Sear.
@#$% Blizz, this is silly.
Aug 31st 2008 8:39PM The itemisation chase for the perfect Hit Cap, would undermine Misery... eventually it will suffer the same cruel fate of itemisation.
What I would like to see is if they gave us options here. Maybe a way for us to choose the debuff. I was thinking something like how a hunter can choose aspects.
You become the embodiment of "dark thoughts", which will hex your target when they are under the influence of your mind flay, shadow word: pain, or vampiric touch.
Misery = Spell Damage to Target by X%
Despair = Chance of Spells to Hit Target by X%
Sorrow = Reduce chance of target to hit by X%
Guilt = Chance of Additional Damage on Perioidic Damage
Spite = Reduces the resilience of the target by X%
The Talents could be managed to increase the effect.
Aug 30th 2008 9:33PM I think the worse change is Misery is +3 hit. Every class is not going to assume they always have a shadow priest in thier run (blizz have admitted thats the aim of the utility rebalance). So everyone will aim for and gain hit cap on thier own.
Hell, my raid doesnt even account for having Draeni casters in thier group for 1% hit. Hit Cap yourself or dont bother coming is the main attitudes around.
Aug 30th 2008 9:31PM The problem is that priests true power is raiding, and they have been so focused on standardising this they have been swinging the nerf bat at both Shadow & Healing Priests way too hard.
Fair to expect a major spit and polish overhaul... but when.
Shadow Priests were told "soon" by Blizz blues, that was 3 nerfs ago... and each time they havent given us a solid answer on Vampiric Touch until now.
Blizz sandboxing is worrysome, its hard being on the sideline to this.
Aug 30th 2008 9:27PM The first L80 and Trade 450 titles seem unfair... its not based on play time but actual real time. This does not encourage a healthy attitude towards gaming and is like a red flag to a bull for certain pathological hardcore players that shouldnt be waved.
For shame on Blizzard imo.
Aug 30th 2008 1:04PM I wish the Shackle Undead, was like the polymorph and clears dots. Especially since we the ones that cast dots :P
Yes, MindFlay glyph is terrible... the mage 5% more damage glyphs are better.
Aug 9th 2008 9:13AM The Mindflay has a 50% slow on top of its damage. The removal of the slow for extra range suits instance PvE where the further your away from the boss the safer you are from PBAoE (point blank aoe).
The slow effect is good when things are running at you or away... but when its a boss, or its standing still. Its useless.
The kicker is, Mindlfay does less damage than most spells because of the slow effect cause the damage return co-effecient from spell damage bonus is lower than average.
So the kick in the face is, if there is no slow... where is the extra damage. The 5 yards is an insult. Mindflay was 30 yards in alpha, back to 20, and now its 25 with a glyph.
Hell even insect swarm got a
Things Mindflay need are
* Better spell damage co-effecient returns
* Bonus associated to Crit Rate (since it dont crit)
* Interrupt prevention higher than 70% (arcane missle has 100%)
* Blizzard to get a darn clue. :(
... and a glyph shouldnt be the crutch fix for it.
Aug 9th 2008 6:37AM They are terrible, they dont even come close to the ones we have seen on other classes... as a Shadow Priest with both the talents, new speslls, and now these glyphs. I have No Confidence in Blizzard to actually know or even understand the shadow priests.
ffs 5% SWd at 35% or below... is like a total increase of 0.5% dps.
5 yards... we should have that already its always been too short but a glyph... no it should be a full fledge fix. It shouldnt be a glyph. and since its removing the slow effect it should be boosting DPS too imo.
Aug 1st 2008 8:06AM Glyph: 100% Interupt protection on Mindsear.
Glyph: Buff damage coeff... but remove slow on Mindflay.
Glyph: VT back to 5%
