Unlocking the Sunwell: Essence of the Immortals {WoW}

Feb 13th 2008 12:12PM It's still unconfirmed whether or not any of the current T6 bosses also drop the Essences (there is also speculation on whether Kael'thas and Vashj might as well). If that's the case, unlocking the gate may not be as big of a hindrance as it appears.

Badges of Justice may not be in WotLK {WoW}

Nov 2nd 2007 7:32PM @3 It may not be Mike's point, but the wording of the linked post was specifically about re-using the current BoJs that drop in level 70 Heroics. In which case, the obvious answer would (and should) be no, which is what the Blizzard poster responded with.

WotLK Heroics/10-mans having their own token equivalent is a different story and probably a good idea to continue with in the future, and I doubt Blizzard will abandon that idea.

WoW Moviewatch: The Headless Horseman {WoW}

Oct 19th 2007 12:22PM He's maybe as hard as normal mode Kargath. Maybe.

Totem Talk: Two Fists of Fury! (or axes or maces) {WoW}

Oct 11th 2007 5:23PM @8 Essentially. If you follow those three basic steps, you'll see a noticeable difference in DPS. The only way to really get higher is to start really number-crunching.

The only other recommendation I'd make would be to have a general idea of what stats provide the most benefit for DPS. The Enhancer mod that Matthew mentioned in the article is also nice because it provides AEP (attack power equivalency valuations) on your item tooltips. Even if you don't want to understand the actual values themselves, you can just compare the AEP values between items to generally figure out which will provide more benefit.

Also, I'm sure you probably know this but it wasn't really implied clearly in your post. You're still better off with the slowest weapon that you can get for your MH (with comparable DPS) as well since both Stormstrike and WF procs are not normalized, so slower weapons still hit harder overall.

An 80 DPS 2.6 speed MH will do significantly more DPS than an 80 DPS 1.8 speed MH for example (assuming a 2.6 or slower OH).

Oct 11th 2007 3:53PM @4 Also, having WF on both weapons increases the chance that each *non-locked out* swing will have a 36% chance to proc WF instead of 20%. So your MH will proc WF more just by having WF on the OH.

Extending the weather and seasons of Azeroth {WoW}

Oct 6th 2007 4:43PM I believe Pyrewood Village in Silverpine Forest is affected by the day/night cycle -- during the day the village is populated by humans, but at night they turn into Moonrage werewolves.

Notice how some of the Moonrage mobs have the same type as the Pyrewood ones (Sentry, Leatherworker, etc).

Confirmed: Enhancement Shaman buffs for 2.3 {WoW}

Sep 26th 2007 5:35PM @8 "Enhance Shaman need: % of AP to convert to spell damage. A way to get into melee and stay there."

This was one of the changes that was at Blizzcon (added to Mental Quickness), but it doesn't seem to be mentioned in this article, so I'm not sure if it was retracted.

The Light and How to Swing It: How to tank as a Paladin {WoW}

Sep 5th 2007 12:41AM Just to clarify since the article was somewhat vague on this point. The 490 defense is necessary to become *uncrittable* by a level 73 (raid boss) mob. The extra miss/dodge/block/parry that results from the defense is just a bonus since past 490, attaining 1% avoidance is cheaper in the item budget as pure block, dodge or parry rating rather than adding more defense.
