Mar 2nd 2009 5:40PM From GCs description and him saying that "you wont need more than 32 (because of the limit) since you will generate them so quickly", it sounds like casting DS on a mob will give you a bunch of shards so it never really becomes a problem any more
eg whoops down to 10 shards. DS on a trash mob or even a boss. Ding 5 or 10 shards in the bag. Then noone ever needs to worry about shards again. It aint the utopia of stacking shards (Corpse Dust Blizz?) but its a quick fix
Nov 30th 2008 8:58AM WTB addon that warns me when I enter a lvl80 dungeon that I'M NOT WEARING MY FRICKING TABARD !!!
I could leave the tabard on all the time, but you have seen the Kirin Tor tabard right?
Oct 12th 2008 8:21AM Thats one annoyance off the list
how about fixing the most annoying thing in the game.......getting stuck on a step while walking up it
wiped in shadow lab last night because the tank was running out of murmurs circle while he was sonic booming and got stuck on a step. I remember the same bug in impossible mission on the C64 and would have hoped it was solvable by now.....

When you hit 60 you can still gift levels
I know because I have done it.
As for the topic, the quote "lots of people who dont know how to play their characters" is a load fo crap. Sorry to break this to you guys, but endgame is leevl 70.....thats the whole of outland to learn how to play your character. Lets face it......with the new skills etc that were introduced post 60 with BC, most people had to play the game differently anyway.....
Its an awesome idea. It re-ignited my love for the game in the lul before the expansion
Plus I get a Zhevra
Sep 5th 2008 4:08AM your argument is flawed in sooo many ways
I bet you think its acceptable to roll a DK at level 58 ! but unacceptable to level a hunter to 60 with level 26 greens.........hmmm
I have power levelled a few chars to 60 using this. U only get triple xp if they are together at the time. (so suitable for dual boxing or introducing a totally new player to the game)
My main was probably about as geared up as I could get without doing 25 man raiding. I don't see the point getting into that with an expansion round the corner so I had got myself into a bit of a rut in wow. Refer a friend comes along, all of a sudden I am levelling like mad again.
"I am a GL and I have concerns too" - *sniff* *sniff* - elitist
I am guessing the OP played wow since the beginning and continually says things like "you have it easy these days, it used to take so long to level to 60" "mount at 30.....in my day we had to slog it out to 40 and quests gave half the XP" "Mudsprocket? We didn't have Mudsprocket when I levelled, we had to grind on ogres for 20 days barefoot in the snow to ding 40 and get our mount" "bah.....flight point at Rebel Camp? We used to have to run all the way to Booty Bay or all the way from Darkshire when we had to quest at the top of STV"
As for the argument that it leaves people at 70 unable to play their characters
Aug 30th 2008 9:55AM got to mid level 50s with my druid when i realised that if I teleported moonglade, there was a druid trainer there
last umpteen levels, i ran past him on the way to the flight point to fly to darnassus to train
Aug 23rd 2008 5:32AM PS For the poepl moaning about being able to almost instantly create a level 60 character and they wont be able to play it? *cough* Death Knight
Aug 23rd 2008 5:30AM R-a-F is the most awesome idea by Blizzard. The only people who hate it are the 4 year old kiddies whose moms wont give them the cash to do it
I give you two scenarios
1) My friend wants to get into WoW but sees that it is going to be 80 levels and for him to get to the same stage as me, it will take him 2-3 months of normal gameplay (no boostage.....and yes....he has a real job). This is daunting. RaF come along, bang I get to level a new alt along with thim. the 3*XP only works if you are levelling WITH the other account...ie standing next to him. Its a way to get ppl into the game and it is social as well. I dont just refer him then go back to farming kara or doing heroics, I have to level up with him or it doesnt work
2) Gives me a chance to try multiboxing with two accounts on the same PC. Cost = 2months subscription + a battle chest = £20 + £18. Plus i get a free month on my main account for the referral = £29. If you cant afford that moaning kiddies.........get a paper round or wash the neighbours car
In short, I think the guy who dreamed up the RaF scheme is just fricking awesome
PS If your country finds this scheme illegal, go whine to a politician, not Blizzard
PPS you cant do this with 2 virgin accounts, you level so fast you need a gold boost from somewhere to pay your training bills
Jul 7th 2008 3:48AM I do think heroic versions of the old dungeons would be good
I dont think it would take that much effort TBH, ramp the mobs health up by a factor of 10 or 20 and there you go.
New loot tables
As a new gamer, the whole focus was about getting to Outland. There was 0 chance of getting a group for Scholomance or Strathholme because everyones shot off to Outland at the time.
A couple of mates took me through Scholomance and Stratholme and it was awesome.
And what an experience.......the underground one was (cant remember its name....the Seven Dwarves were there, we stealthed to them.....big pub in the middle?)
IMHO those dungeons spanked anything in Outland.
Heroic versions please.
Jul 4th 2008 7:38AM Fireworks displays in Azeroth?
As someone new to the game (December 07) this is another reason why WoW is the best game ever
