Sep 18th 2008 7:18PM Wrath is making mounts into spells rather than items. Not sure if the pre-Wrath patch is adding that ability or not, but that's how people are going to be able to do this - they won't need bag slots, they're just spells. :)
Sep 14th 2008 4:35PM It's a game. If you want to be picky there's zero point in the whole darn thing. ;)
If it's a statistic people can track and can increase, people will want to increase it. The entire game is based around the premise of people wanting the bigger numbers.
You better believe there's going to be people macro'ing like mad once this goes live.
Sep 14th 2008 2:24PM Right-click, Report Spam, problem solved.
One of two things will happen - LOL (and other) spammers will start getting holidays... or the "achievements" for such things will be removed or tweaked to only count X in Y time period to prevent spamming.
Either way if you report someone for spam you don't have to see it anymore. So go nuts, just don't be surprised when half the server can't hear you talking anymore! :)
Sep 13th 2008 5:06PM "I simply took a break from the game"
And that's why I stopped bothering with PvP realms.
If I'm playing the game it's because I want to play the game. When I don't want to play anymore, then I take a break. Taking a break because some low-life coward is griefing lower level characters makes the game stop being fun altogether. And if it's not fun anymore then I may as well cancel my sub again.
A suggestion if you like to be challenged though - enter a Battleground queue before you hit the maximum level for a bracket. I agree that it is satisfying defeating opponents who, by rights, ought to defeat you. Quite a few Horde learnt the hard way not to ignore my underleveled gnome lock while I was grinding tokens for my PvP mount. ;)
Just be aware if you do this that you might come in for some grief from friendly players. And don't bitch and moan if your side is losing, unless you're doing much better than everyone else! ;)
Sep 11th 2008 1:52PM Heirlooms ARE fresh content.
So what if they reuse some graphics? Do you complain that every single gnoll doesn't look completely different to every other gnoll?
Graphics != content.
Sep 1st 2008 10:39AM Recruiting costs no money. Not sure what your $'s are there for.
And yes, the recruited account grants levels to the referring account. You won't be using an existing 60/70 to rush a recruited account up the ranks, other than the usual rushes through instances and whatnot.
Aug 30th 2008 1:55AM *lol* Aerei 30GB is nowhere near the most you can get for a cap in Australia. Even Bigpond have plans with bigger caps than that and only crazy people go with Bigpond.
If you really think 30GB is the biggest cap available I would strongly urge you to shop around. You might be surprised at how much you can get these days and I'd be surprised if you couldn't be saving some money for the same data allowance. Try Internode, if you haven't already.
Aug 29th 2008 3:39PM WAR is playable, yes, but it is going to launch in an unfinished state. There were still glaring bugs to fix at the end of the preview weekend and shortly thereafter it was declared the game had gone gold...
WAR is going to be another in a long line of rushed releases that will suffer as a consequence. It's a shame because pushing it back just one or two more months would have resulted in a much better product.
But I'm sure EA know what they're doing... :-|
Aug 29th 2008 12:07AM "If you have strong opinions about which games to play and not to play, shouldn't you be making even better games than the ones you don't like?"
No. You should be *striving* to make better games, which Dyack and Silicon Knights did.
You may consider them to have failed in that task and you're entitled to that opinion. Just as Dennis is entitled to think EVE is better than WOW.
Apparently you have a strong opinion about Too Human. When can we expect your game-that-is-better, Mr Schramm?
Aug 27th 2008 11:40AM Azeroth is not Earth. Maybe you should "do the math." :)
