Big changes for Hunters in patch 3.1 {WoW}

Feb 6th 2009 2:31AM AND Ritual of Souls need multiple people.

The only reason I said Soulstone might be OP without Soulshards is Shamans might complain "ZOMG Locks can Ankh without reagent on half the cooldown!!!11". Though it's not really OP if you have to set it beforehand, where with theirs its always ready if not on cooldown.

Hell, I would go as far to say that if Blizzard said "Soul Shards have been removed from the game", no spell would be considered OP.

Soul Shards may have originally been to keep our usefulness in check, but they aren't needed or wanted anymore.

Feb 6th 2009 2:17AM Shards can be stored in other bags, but Shard Bags are much bigger than normal bags (biggest being 32), so if you're gonna carry 18 in a normal bag, you may as well get a special bag to carry more. And no, Shard Bags give no bonuses whatsoever.

In my opinion, Soul Shards are an outdated concept that should go the way of priest racials and 5-minute blessings. They take an entire bag slot, and unlike cooldowns or situational restrictions, there is no immediate punishment for using them, so there's nothing stopping you from burning through them. And I guarantee that I you said "I don't want to use demons/soulstone/healthstone because it uses soul shards" in a group, you would get the boot faster than a melee hunter.

Very few spells would be overpowered if the Soul Shard cost were removed. Those that come to mind are Healthstones (make it consume some of the casters health like Mage's Mana Gems), Soulstones (OP when compared to Ankh; give it a reagent or increase cooldown) and Shadowburn (make it like Shadow Word: Death or Execute or something).

Feb 6th 2009 1:50AM Now, I'm all for Hunters getting a bag slot back, to make them in line with the other classes.

However, if the same thing doesn't happen for us 'Locks, I forsee about 50% of the Warlocks forums filled with some extremely vulgar ranting.

Breakfast Topic: A pair of purple pixels, brah! {WoW}

Feb 4th 2009 8:14AM First purple was either Gladiators War Staff or some piece of Frozen Shadoweave. Can't remember which.

First purple at 80 were my Visage Liquification Goggles.

Designing around latency {WoW}

Feb 2nd 2009 7:54PM It's not the computer that's the problem (though it'd be quite hard to raid at 5fps). Australian/Oceanic players play on US servers (not sure for the reason behind it; someone can't be bothered with the hassle of true Oceanic servers), which means a constant 300-400 ping. We can't change this with hardware, the only way to change it is to move to US and play there.

Things that don't annoy me {WoW}

A Void Dance
Defeat Zuramat the Obliterator in The Violet Hold without killing any void sentries.

"Wtf, you could kill those things?"

Funnily enough, the constantly stacking shadowbolt-volley-spammers killed our healer after the boss was dead, and the door was locked so he couldn't get back in.

Breakfast Topic: I can't show off my flying mount in Dalaran {WoW}

Jan 18th 2009 8:27AM Eh, I got all my showing-off my Netherdrake done in Shattrath.

Now I show off my Mechano-hog :)

WRUP: Vampire of choice edition {WoW}

Jan 17th 2009 9:13AM Contemplating whether to start a healer alt. The problem is what class...

Want a melee class, so there go Priests.
I'm a hordie and don't like Tauren, so there go Druids.
I like the idea of Shaman, but they're quite boring. Enhancement is pretty much Shock, then whack things 'til 40 when Stormstrike comes in.

What, I forgot Pallies? Not touching them. They... just don't feel right. Kinda like Alliance's sloppy seconds.

Breakfast Topic: Are you an insomniac WoW player? {WoW}

Jan 10th 2009 8:34AM Back in the day when I did Nightfill at a supermarket, I'd wake up at 5pm, start work at 6, lunch at 9pm, get home at 3am, have some dinner, then play WoW til dawn.

'Twas a good life. Normally, as I'm an Aussie, my evening is middle of the morning for most. But when doing this, I was playing during American afternoon, so there were enough people for groups, but it wasn't fully packed.

Why healing meters suck {WoW}

Jan 8th 2009 9:11PM Hell, I always just keep Recount open to the "Deaths" page, so I can figure out why they died (no heals, stood in the fire, etc) and call them on it.
