More leaks from the Alpha forums on Shamans, Warriors, and Death Knights {WoW}

Jul 17th 2008 10:24PM Great - just when I was feeling excited about my shaman in WotLK they remove the two features of the new talents that are most appealing.

The vibe I got from the Shaman community was that Enhance looked great (and not OP compared to Rogues) while Elemental and Resto were ok but not really exciting.

Looks like I will be rolling my Druid as a main if these changes go through.

Ask a Lore Nerd: Only a little broken {WoW}

Jul 14th 2008 12:32AM Oh and don't forget about the Kurenai - a seperate faction that is harmonious with the Draenei and the rest of the Alliance... not sure they would be that way if Broken were being mistreated by Draenei.

Ask a Lore Nerd: Only a little broken {WoW}

Jul 14th 2008 12:29AM There is also a short quest line in Zangarmarsh where you are asked by a Draenei to try and encourage a tribe of Broken in the South of the zone to rejoin the Draenei in their pursuit of the Light.

Unfortunately the method/approach the Draenei NPC asks you to use ends up insulting the leader of the tribe but the Draenei learns his lesson but still somewhat doesn't understand the desire for the Broken to be independant.

Forum post of the day: Moving moments {WoW}

Jul 10th 2008 5:10AM /sigh

the picture is inaccurate but there is a bottle neck behind those fences to the FW keep - the tower you HAVE to pass through and the subsequent archway between the towers full of archers.

It is on par with the bridge for alliance so stop your qqing. Horde on Bloodlust battlegroup have become expert 'turtlers' as soon as alliance gets past IBGY (which isnt often) they fall back to the keep knowing how easily they can hold it out.

Jul 10th 2008 3:50AM No mention of the several Shaman nerfs removing their PvP superiority preTBC to the mediocre 'passable' status they have now.

Arcane Brilliance: How to fix Mages {WoW}

Jul 5th 2008 4:02PM Why not just fuse the two classes together, give them all the same spells... 6 talent trees etc actually might as well throw shadow priest in there too so they have a 7th tree...

While we are at it, lets just break all the classes down in to armour type and simplify the whole lot...?

Arcane Brilliance: How to fix Mages {WoW}

Jul 5th 2008 3:58PM Kathoz... if you're tired of getting owned my frost mages in pvp then perhaps you should learn to... wait for it... Spell Reflect! zomg nowai!

Put on your shield and lol your arse off as you send all their frost bolts right back at them - even funnier if frostbite proc's on their followup ice lance and they nearly kill themselves.

I agree that mages need to be improved in relation to other classes but i wouldn't say they're broken - they still do everything Blizzard said they should, just so happens some other classes do most of them a little better.

I can relate... my main is an enhancement shaman, also have a feral druid (try pvping with them and see what it feels like to be underpowered in arena) and just got a mage to 70.

Blizzard's icy splash screen changes as Diablo 3 and WoTLK speculation intensifies {WoW}

Jun 24th 2008 11:44AM Spacedog you're underestimating Blizzard's understanding of the power of 'progressive testing' as a marketing tool. Why did blizz need to run a progress testing patch for the SWP when the final boss was, in the words of a raider in the first kill, 'the most perfectly tuned fight ever made by blizzard'.

The only reason blizzard made the 2.4 patch so heavy in boss kill testing was to build hype using sites like this one and mmo-champion, world of raids, youtube, etc.

I am not saying that the image is a build-up to WotLK beta testing just saying that blizzard know that beta testing is a major marketing tool - one used heavily by AoC recently. It wouldn't surprise me if it was a serious effort to further raise the profile of their Beta testing for WotLK (arguably the most anticipated beta in MMO's).

WoW Moviewatch: Tallulah {WoW}

Jun 3rd 2008 10:55AM Terrible song... lyrically alone it was awkward and overly descriptive. I have no knowledge of the band and haven't heard them before but that really was crap - stopped watching halfway through... couldn't take anymore.

The clip was just too drawn out... the pace set by the song and matched by the clip meant a bit more activity from the characters would of been welcome (which can be hard when trying to show interaction between WoW models that aren't designed to interact).

Oceanic maintenance moved away from prime time {WoW}

May 22nd 2008 12:10PM I checked every link of that post and NO WHERE did I find evidence that Blizzard were moving MAINTENANCE. They moved the server restart but I found nothing and have read nothing that says MAINTENANCE will be moved.

Server restarts are one thing but server maintenance where they take them down for a period of time will not be moved so basically its worthless. We can't schedule a raiding roster around the probability that the servers will only be restarted and not brought down for maintenance.

Its bullshit and a band aid measure to try and appease and placate Oceanic based players now that AoC and WAR are knocking on the door with OCEANIC BASED servers obviously offering superior connection performance and maintenance schedules. This is obviously evidence that Blizzard does care about the revenue they receive from oceanic subscribers but evidence they don't care enough to provide us with the same quality service they give to people in the USA, Europe and China.
