Aug 3rd 2008 4:57PM I understand your frustration. This game has never been balanced or fair in any way. I just believe that Blizzard is making hybrids stronger on purpose. They see too many people re-rolling dps and the only solution is to make us more powerful. I was a raid healer for a long time. It was very stressful while we were learning new fights and boring as hell once the fights were on farm. I think it is my turn to be able to knock some bodies down. I know that makes you sad, but from where I sit DPS classes have had the most fun since launch. I am glad to see these changes.

Jul 31st 2008 9:22PM I am going to jump out on a limb here and say this move is designed to make utility classes more valuable. In the future raids will not be able to stack the highest dps classes and forego the usefullness of hybrids.

This is the next logical step from the viability of the shadow priest. Ret paladins bring mana and health regen through judgements, passive healing from Divine Storm, haste from Ret aura, etc.

Jul 29th 2008 9:59AM They want Pallies wearing the exact same gear as warriors in the expac. From what I have seen there is no spelldamage tanking plate. Stam will provide the spellpower. They also want us using high dps weapons and not spell damage. They will keep tweaking the talents until they get us geared identical to warriors and death knights.

Jul 29th 2008 9:54AM Don't forget that Pally tanks will start stacking strength as well know due to changes in the talents and a new baseline ability. All spell damage will come from the stam=sp talent.

As we level the defense cap will go up as well. Anyone in T6 gear will be crittable all to hell unless they start upgrading.

This is level 75 rare quality gear. Those who thought T6 or SWP loot would take them right into Naxx may be a little disappointed.

Do you honestly think they will not make us do the entire level 80 dungeon crawl before we get to raid again?

Jul 27th 2008 7:53PM This is it. Blizzard's leveling design is based around giving you a quest and then putting the objective behind a bunch of mobs that you do not need to kill. They don't want you to be able to skip the uneccessary mobs and fly right to the objective. This is about slowing down how fast you level. Plus they get to use flying as a carrot twice for the same price! Bargain for Blizzard.

Jul 19th 2008 8:34PM Just some thoughts here...

It looks like they are changing some mechanics so these abilities may work differently than we are theorycrafting them to be.

There is a trained spell called sacred shield that absorbs 500 damage every 6 sec for 30 sec. No cooldown on it as of yet. It may scale with spellpower.

We will be sharing tanking gear with warriors which is likley to have strength. That will increase block value. This will help with sacred shield causing more threat.

Crushing blows are GONE. Holy shield lasts 10 second with an 8 sec CD.

Lay on Hands is on a 20 min cooldown and does not eat all our mana anymore. (Panic button?)

Judgements no longer consume the seal when cast. And Judgements of the Just reduces attack speed.

These are not all of the changes but it is safe to say that enough of the game is changing to a degree that we cannot fathom just yet.
