May 21st 2011 3:40PM I agree with you. I live in Reno, Nevada, just across the border with California, and every year so far I've gotten tickets. My friends and I are always on the phone when we go through the ticket buying process and the ones who live farther way rarely get in a low enough queue position.
Living close to California is definitely an important key.
Dec 3rd 2010 9:35AM You have clearly never taken an economics class, tatsumasa. Lower prices increases demand while higher prices decreases demand. So more people *will* buy as the prices go down, even though it may not matter to you what the price is.
Having hit the pre-Cataclysm gold cap more than a year ago using precisely this strategy, I can tell you that it can and does work. Granted, you make fewer big 100+ gold per glyph sales, but you make up for that with a consistent flow of income, and as competitors who want the big sales drop out of the market, your average income increase.
The real trick to the glyph game is keeping your costs down, but that is story for another day
May 16th 2009 6:42PM For those trying to figure out, I was in the queue at just over position 3700 and got to the front of the line just before the Sold Out notice hit. So I would say pretty much anyone above that probably didn't get tickets this go around.
I wonder if Blizz will release a larger number of tickets in two weeks. The may have been using this as sort of an open beta, with the real stress test to come May 30th.
