At those bashing homeschooling:
Some of you guys disgust me with your hasty generalizations. I am 18, an eagle scout, freshman in college, maintained a 3.75 GPA my first semester, socially active, and guess what! I'm a homeschooler! Oh no, shove him back in his cave, he has no social skills and is an abomination of society!
Sure, some homeschoolers don't turn out alright, but neither do all public or private schoolers. Do you think all recluses are homeschooled?
Also, there is a huge difference between homeschooling and unschooling, think before you generalize both. I had a schedule and limits on computers etc.
People need to get over this homeschooling stereotype. There are many functional, social, intelligent homeschoolers in this world, me and my siblings being some of them. Don't call us all bad because of one bad apple. You would do well to be more open minded and less judgemental on that which you do not even know.
