Jan 7th 2012 1:27AM @aurickle I think it's the one in Black Sun territory (if I'm remembering my datacrons right). My character's body frame kept running into a block there up an edge and even angled jumping to try to avoid that slant seemed to meet a wall, and it was frustrating the heck out of me because I couldn't get past it. People kept coming and 'showing' me how it was done and I would -literally- watch as they just walked up the side. So my one male friend was having a bit of trouble believing my theory that my body frame had something to do with it... I let him get on my account (I have an authenticator and only I know ALL the answers to my security questions, so wasn't worried. I've also known him for 12 years). Anyway. he immediately IMed me with ".What the heck? I had no problem at all with this....there's like a wall here when I try on yours." ".. Yes. That's what I've been saying. For the last half hour." He finally, 15 minutes later, angled JUST right and made the jump for me... a single jump out of the entire path... and conceded I hadn't been making it up at all. He had no idea how he managed it the time he did it either. I love Datacron hunting but that one was just insane. ><
Jan 5th 2012 6:20PM @geololj Except where all of the supposed bans have been refuted EXCEPT the exploiting of Ilum's swapping to instantly respawn goods and let people make thousands and thousands of credits with no risk or effort? Because no player in their right mind would think "Oh, this is intended". Every other game has banned players for doing much of the same sort of thing. When you know it's not intended and you DO IT ANYWAY to your own profit REPEATEDLY...expect to get -suspended-. Which is what actually happened. They were not banned entirely. They were given a timeout.
Dec 12th 2011 10:10PM Interestingly, I like dark colors. I like blues and purples. And I HATED Deepholm and Vashjir for questing in. I felt claustrophobic in both. Hyjal and Uldum were so much more fun to me in comparison.
Dec 7th 2011 5:37PM Oh, Comment system. How you frustrate me.
Dec 7th 2011 5:37PM They do, though I don't think it's been this massive before. Or discounting in-game rewards like the steed or pet. We did have the steed and quite a few pets available before last christmas and I don't recall them being discounted then. Christmas has always been the time to buy WoW because of their sale. But I didn't recall it being this low in price or have the additions previously. I could always be wrong. I'm not bashing WoW... I may be going to play SWTOR but I'm still signed up for that year agreement with WoW and looking forward to Pandaria. :) I've never felt the need to insult one game for the sake of another. People enjoy what they enjoy.
Dec 7th 2011 1:25PM Do dragons EVER make sense on this stuff? In Culling of Stratholme, Chromie lands as a rather large bronze dragon. On Sethria's Roost, Chromie is a bronze whelp. I think it's purely arbitrary what form the dragon wants to take. Wrathion points out that dragons can understand things from their egg, so maybe some just WANT To grow up as whelps and he didn't.
Well, and the fact everyone would hate the person who got Chromie if a big bronze dragon was blocking half of the roost. But that's not as fun in speculation.
Dec 7th 2011 1:22PM Impressive sale, though..it does seem insane. But it also seems very much like an attempt to go "Look, you can get our game and expansions for cheaper than SW:TOR! You don't want to play SW:TOR!". I'm not a Wow-is-Dying gal, that's just absurd, the timing of the sale and the extreme amounts do spark a bit of cynicism in me though. ;)
Dec 5th 2011 4:53PM You have to be fair and consider the column IS about drama situations. I doubt they'd bring something like bestiality into it if someone wrote them about how someone stole their kitten and bragged about it in guild chat. But let's look at the claim that there's nothing that indicates sexism:
1) Only woman in the guild.
2) Accused of cybersex when she claims in the letter that it didn't happen. And to those saying showing the 'dresses' was somehow bad...I've done that plenty of times. Sometimes in amusement of how RIDICULOUS it is that a certain piece will completely cover a male character but doesn't even work as a feasible bra for my female character. I'm not trying to turn guys on with my pixels.
3) She tried to refute it. This was ignored.
4) She finally says that if he REALLY Thinks she's a slut, then he should kick her. This was likely a bad move on her part for multiple reasons, but the fact he did and no one would give her the time of day when she wanted to explain to other officers afterwards indicates no one really cared about finding out the truth.
Is it definitely a case of sexism? No. However indicates are that it's likely her being female was a part in the accusation sticking and others not coming to her defense.
Dec 5th 2011 4:23PM Yep, IG means In Game as opposed to IRL (In real life). OOG however does not mean Out of game, it means Out of Genre. And OOC means Out of Character. They get thrown around quite a bit (OOG less than the others, but it'd be like your character suddenly roleplaying in WoW that they're, say, a specific real world religion when it doesn't exist in WOW). So they're all useful to know. :)
Dec 5th 2011 4:19PM @Albanesp
I'll just leave this here:
"I was the only woman in the guild but there wasn't a problem for me, as I consider me IG as a player and a tank above all."
Feel silly yet?
