The Maelstrom is probably epic enough for you now {WoW}

Jul 30th 2010 1:33PM Suddenly I do wish I was in the beta. I love it when they do crazy stuff like that. :)

Updates to Cataclysm models, Malfurion Stormrage {WoW}

Jul 30th 2010 7:19AM I think they make you look like Orko from Masters of the Universe.

WoW Moviewatch: Icecrown Gunship Battle: Now in Real Life! {WoW}

Jul 27th 2010 1:26PM Well, that explains why Orgrim's Hammer is going down in Cata... its balloons got popped!

Spiritual Guidance: Spells we forget {WoW}

May 31st 2010 10:44AM I still like Mind Soothe, and in a similar vein Soothe Animal when I'm playing a druid, for gathering purposes. Quite handy to be able to pick flowers next to hostile mobs without aggroing them.

BlizzCon 2009: The costume contest {WoW}

Aug 22nd 2009 2:49PM I liked how both versions of Lady Pestro did that "pssst" gesture. Influence of "Blind"?

Breakfast Topic: On alts and patch planning {WoW}

Jul 24th 2009 9:02AM I've put my level 73 druid on hold since looking at the current tauren cat form has become all the more painful knowing that there's an indefinitely better look out on the PTR already. I intend to go back to levelling her more intensely once she gets her new and cooler feral forms, plus hopefully cold weather flying.

Breakfast Topic: Does WoW help you learn a foreign language? {WoW}

Jul 6th 2009 7:08PM My native language is German but I only play on English servers since the people who originally started playing the game with me are Dutch and Swedish respectively. I never had a problem with the language since I had already improved my English drastically through several years of regular internet use (it's not all 733t speak :)). About the only "issue" I had was that everybody was constantly making fun of me and went into hysterics whenever I linked something from my German client ("Mondstoffmantelung zomg rofl") - eventually I got fed up with it and installed the English language pack to escape that unwanted attention. Now I don't even know what all the Northrend zones are called in German and couldn't imagine going back to playing the game in my native language anymore. Funny how these things work out.

Oh, and I think I can count the other German-speakers I've met on English realms on one hand. I think if people have the option to have a realm in their native language, they'll mostly stick to that, no matter how much people praise the benefits of international contacts in the comments here.

New Tauren cat forms revealed {WoW}

Jun 2nd 2009 5:32PM I gasped when I saw these. Then I paused for a moment and thought "eeh, still not as sleek and pretty as nelf cat form", but the more I look at it, the more I like it and the more fitting it seems.

I don't really get the complaints about it looking too masculine. I'm a female player playing a female tauren and I never had an issue with the mane. Yes, on lions it's something that distinguishes males and females, but in the end these aren't lions, they are still tauren. My tauren has hair on her head, why shouldn't she keep it in cat form? :P Not to mention that there are plenty of other animals where both males and females have lots of shaggy fur on their heads.

Breakfast Topic: Are you using Blizzard's addon replacers? {WoW}

May 24th 2009 12:59PM I happily switched from ItemRack to the new Equipment Manager as I never wanted more than that base functionality anyway, and the less memory I need to use up for addons, the better (my PC is very slow as it is).

The Daily Quest: Illogical {WoW}

May 8th 2009 3:55PM As a PvE healer I have to say I grow very tired of the recurring articles about how using the keyboard to move is zomgsobad. WoW is NOT a FPS. I use Healbot and need my mouse to focus on my main job, which is to keep everyone alive. Movement is very much secondary, and things like moving out of a fire generally don't require more than a quick key tap anyway. I'm not saying there aren't situations where using your mouse to move is superior (especially in PvP and when you're playing a melee character), but it's not the be-all and end-all of being a good player.
