Nov 10th 2008 7:54AM Polar bear mount is awesome! Me wants mucho!
Jan 22nd 2008 7:48PM Has anyone noticed the changes to the EULA? I don't think those name/guild name restrictions were there before... (or maybe I just saw them now...
Jan 4th 2008 3:11PM When the honor system changed and healing was being counted for, I was on my healing priest and healed and healed and healed through countless AVs. The usual scenario was that I got half of the people on offense whispering me to be their personal healer. "Just heal me and we win this one"; "Heal me, I'm going to charge that warlock"; "Heal me I'm going to tank all those warmasters. Just keep me up." It's a bit hard to do when you have 10 people tanking Drek and even though my HoTs were on as many people as possible, the cleaves (that no one stood away from when they could - most still don't to this day...) usually took care of making them useless. Also, (I don't know if people realize this) it's very hard to heal with 40 boxes in front of you and trying to figure out if the people who's health is going down are the ones in front of you or back at the Alliance base. Of course, there were the rabid foam-at-the-mouth whispers about my skills when people died... at almost every game. Fortunately, I ignored complaints of the people that didn't have enough armor or didn't care to lose aggeo and kept main tanks up (at the time, I was one of the 2 healers that were part of the 40-mans) and we could win the game. After a while though I got tired of all the ranting directed at healers and respecced shadow and could BG in peace.
Nowadays we see more healers in BGs, but BGs aren't really as balanced as raid groups, and the ratio of 1 healer per 4 dps is rarely seen (add also that people can be very seperated on the map, so healers and dps aren't always sticking together - I've seen many scenarios of too many healers at Drek and dps was stuck playing Defence). Healing is getting better in BGs, but players' attitudes still haven't changed... much.
Being civil with others usually pays off, keeping the mouth shut can be a virtuous skill and discussing strategies and how to play classes properly should be reserved for the forums (and sites like this one!). Insulting your fellow players doesn't get you nowhere, brings the morale down for the 38 other people (and usually igniting the passions of other troll-people), and players always have the option to /ignore you.
Dec 20th 2007 6:52PM Although I agree that BRD is full of very yummy drops for shammies, I would mention the http://www.wowhead.com/?item=22395 shock totem that drops from Magmus - if you ever get a group that is brave enough to get to that point (seriously, bring 1 or 2 of your lvl 70 buddies with you... use the quick path to do the MC attunement as a shortcut to get there - you'll be done in no time). It is one of the few Relic-type totems that shamans can get in the game... (if I remember correctly, there are 3 of them that we can get at lvl 60 pre-BC) unless you plan on speeding your way to Outland, where you can get a much better totem http://www.wowhead.com/?item=27984 by turning in your 15 Marks of Honor Hold/Thrallmar.
Aug 13th 2007 2:30PM @30 Don't spec 41 Holy... It's not as much dps as a shadow priest, yes. But I have my heal and dps sets and I can farm with ease (and with a little skill). And why should you be going full healing anyway? As stated everywhere, other classes can heal, and I can bet you that very rarely will you find yourself in a party without another healing-capable class. Heck, now I run 5-mans where 'I' am the backup healer, dropping out of my dps gear to help from time to time!
Jul 26th 2007 10:41AM The Spectral Mount is the most awesome thing Blizz has made come out since the Netherdrakes... I wish I could have a chance at the Phoenix Mount, but considering the number of dedicated players and guilds on my realm, that's not going to happen anytime soon :( WTB Spectral Mount special buff!
Jul 5th 2007 3:34PM Before BC, we were doing a ZG run without our usual raid leaders. Most of the group had farmed the instance so many times, some people were getting a bit overzealous. Our self-elected temporary raid leader (warlock kid) was one of them. While preparing to fight Hakkar, he was unnecessarily reminding everyone the fight strategy and asking everyone to take their places. We reminded him that we never took specific places until the fight had begun, because you can aggro Hakkar. He disagreed with us: "No, you noobs! You start the fight with Hakkar by hitting him!" After arguing back and forth with the rest of the raid, he screamed at us "FINE, you idiots! I'll just show you I'm the one who's right!"...
*gnome warlock runs towards Hakkar*
"PRIDE HERALDS THE END OF YOUR WORLD!"
We laughed constantly for about a week.
