Nov 10th 2008 4:20PM Mount! Must have mount! *grin*
Nov 9th 2008 5:00PM Another commenter mentioned this already, but I did want to bring it up myself.
Petopia now has a permanent running poll of the best-looking hunter pets (which uses a comparison algorithm similar to the cutest-kitten sites).
You can find the voting comparison page at:
And the running results are at:

Oct 14th 2008 4:49PM Thank you for your kind words! This is such an exciting time for hunters and I'm just thrilled to be able to get involved this way.
As always, it's quite likely that I've missed something or made some mistakes. So if anyone sees something that seems off, please drop me an e-mail and I'll get it fixed as soon as possible.
Oct 3rd 2008 1:52PM Forgive me for pimping, but if you want to know more about hunter pet changes specifically in Patch 3.0 and Wrath of the Lich King, Petopia has a nice FAQ on the topic:
Sep 8th 2008 6:08PM According to a post on the Beta Bug Report Forum, the beta realms will be coming down at 9 am Pacific tomorrow morning for 1 to 2 hours
The 'Breaking News' on the login screen may be a carry-over from live. I have seen live 'Breaking News' carry over onto the beta login before.
Sep 5th 2008 2:52PM This is great news! It's another sign that WoW (and other games) are breaking out of the hardcore-fumble-through-it-yourself-or-look-like-an-idiot early adopter days and becoming mainstream enough to attract less, shall we say, adventurous souls.
Obviously the readers of WoW Insider are not the sort to use this kind of service themselves. But can't you just imagine a college student who plays too much getting a couple of hours of instruction for her mother back home who wants to know where all her kid's time goes but is a bit too timid to do it on her own? Or for that matter, an impatient person who is just awful at explaining things (like me!) buying an hour for a spouse who really wants to get involved so that the spouse can get a decent start without causing marital aggro.
Of course for that to work, the service itself needs to be carefully targeted at that market, and I'm really not getting the feeling that it is yet. But I'm sure that once it becomes clear that there is a (small but valuable) market there, that niche will develop also.
