Breakfast Topic: Your favorite silly things {WoW}

Oct 1st 2007 1:36PM My favorite music reference: "All along the Watchtowers" quest

I still remember how hard I laughed when I rolled a Draenei and had to do the Kessel Run in under 15 min.

And as a long time TT gamer: I shoot magic into the darkness.

Totem Talk: Masters of the Elements {WoW}

Sep 28th 2007 5:40AM One of the things I love about World of Warcraft is how much the game mechanics try to fit the concept and story behind the classes and races. All the powers and talents are designed to fit a concept.

Shamans are masters of Elemental Rage. The thing about elemental rage is that it either rages or it doesn't there isn't any in between. Thus an aggro dump ability would go against the concept of the class. At the very least it would take a legendary (ie 71+) Shaman to have the capability to unleash the elements and then have an enemy not think they are more terrifying than a bloodthirsty warrior.

Therefore, I say kudos to Blizzard in coming up with a creative way to reduce the threat production of an Elemental Shaman while only giving a slight reduction to one spell that also enhances the mana efficiency of the class.

Patch 2.3 and you: Thursday grab-bag {WoW}

Sep 28th 2007 5:24AM Everything sounds like great changes to me. I know lots of Warrior players disagree, but as much as disarm sucks, it's a challenging mechanic and the ability to completely remove it (with talent or item) removes the challenge.

I've been looking really hard at the talents for all the other classes and you know, I can't seem to find a single talent that makes a character immune to Stun, silence, snares, etc. Now there are ways to get out of snares but those are activated abilities or resistances, same for silence or stun. So having an immunity to disarm is rather overpowered.

I look on the bright side, the reduction in time given by the talent or items is a better resistance than casters get to silence or anyone gets to stun. So out of all of the mechanics disarm will suck the least.

Curse interviews Omen creator {WoW}

Sep 28th 2007 4:39AM Thank you for linking this article. It's really good to read about someone who is positive and excited about the game especially someone who sees it from the programming/scripting point of view.

I've been using omen for a while now and it has been an absolute lifesaver (literally) for my bear tanking. I even use it on my hunter to make sure I'm not overwhelming my pet.

I won't even run an instance with a group unless everyone is using a threat meter anymore.

Breakfast Topic: Resemblance {WoW}

Sep 26th 2007 12:45PM I still remember the day I looked up from playing my Tauren female and said "Oh, my god, I look just like the character I'm playing...minus the horns." My boyfriend just looked over at me and replied, "Yeah, ya do, but Tauren chicks are hot, all tall and curvy."
