Behind the Mask: Eight ways for free-to-play {Massively}

Nov 18th 2010 5:58PM There are some things that are omitted from the free-to-play game, but the character builds were absolutely not "built badly" to tempt you to upgrade.

Cryptic wants people to have fun when they try it for free. Giving them crap to play with would be shooting themselves in the foot.

Behind the Mask: Eight ways for free-to-play {Massively}

Nov 18th 2010 5:52PM The Archetypes don't play very bad at all. They're not perfect yet, but a lot of powers are being worked on, so things are going to change in a big way, especially with the fact that passives are scaling on the average of both of your Super Stats.

Note that there is still reason to choose your Super Stats wisely, as many powers will still require certain stats to be high. It's not really a dumbing-down of the character creation process.

Jul 15th 2009 3:43PM I may have missed something in the video, but I don't think it's possible to have a second account with the same name. Any account name should do.

As far as your question: Your two accounts are linked for 90 days. If you deactivate the account, I think the time still counts down, so you have to level within those 90 days.

You may as well do 2 months of leveling though. With the new, recruited account, you get 1 month of play time free. If you pay for another month, the recruiter account gets 1 free month of play (for your next billing cycle, I think), so you're still only spending 20 bucks for 2 months of linked account time.

Jul 15th 2009 3:37PM Mine ran out in the middle of a BRD run, maybe about 8pm server time. I noticed one of my characters was getting a small amount of XP, so we hearthed to town to grant some levels to our characters. I wasn't able to do it for my brother, but he was able to do it for me since he'd done the recruit a friend thing a day after me. Bummer. I don't know why the GMs couldn't help us out. We earned the levels legitimately.

Jul 15th 2009 2:59PM IMPORTANT: Don't forget to Grant a Level to your other alts BEFORE linked time is up on your account. As soon as the 90 days are up (In the middle of you playing) your ability to grant levels is gone, and a GM will not help you with that.

Jul 14th 2009 4:01PM I see, so basically it's poisoning for trash, then you switch to something else for bosses.

Is Instant MH and Deadly OH more DPS with just 3/3 Vile Poisons, or do you also need 5/5 Improved Poisons? And is that better than Deadly/Deadly?
