Jul 3rd 2008 3:12PM Disregarding the obvious sarcasm in the piece, the idea of a tanking pet I find incredibly intriguing, and as one who has one character of all three types (healer, tank, and dps) I would be all for it.
Like BRK mentioned, how many times do we see LF tank, LF healer, or a combo of both? Tanks complain that they'd be out of a job, but you know what? Even with hunter pets tanking, i'm willing to bet there will still be a tank shortage. Why? Because no one actually likes tanking. Sure, there may be a few of you out there who take pride in being a great tank. I've tried my best to do so, but the amount of responsibility and unbelievable amount of criticism for every mistake makes me want to tank only in a blue moon, and only with people I know and trust. And the majority of people I've talked to have said the same thing.
So bring on the pet tanks! The more classes and people there are who realize what a b*itch tanking can be, the more people will appreciate the effort us tanks actually put into it, and it will make it more enjoyable for all of us.
Jun 9th 2008 3:52PM The only thing I don't like about this is what Seamus said...everyone will look the same! It will be rather boring. Not to mention that you could potentially have 4 players in a group rolling on one item at a time...
May 30th 2008 4:40PM Interestingly enough, I have found that as a prot paladin, wearing healing gear is much, much easier and quicker. Much like the poster above stated. More mana, better regen, also higher spell damage, and I still get around 30% block with holy shield.
Aug 2nd 2007 4:45PM poster #1 doesn't have a sense of HUMOR!
Aug 2nd 2007 2:31PM adding new content to the 20-60 as many people have asked for would certainly the single best thing Blizzard could do for this game. I think a level cap would also be good, but not as drastic as the 60-70 was. Give us say, 5 more levels, but try not to make the jump in gear to drastic. This way, when people are 72 it will make kara, and the heroic instances much easier, and people would be able to experience the end game content without spending hours and hours playing the game. As a casual fan I would certainly encourage this.
Then for the hardcore players they can add more raids and 25 mans etc. This way, the older content doesn't become obsolete, and everyone is happy.
Or perhaps they could add an attunement process to reach the new level. For example, you would have to run a few heroics in order to make it to the next content. This would also keep the BC stuff relevant to the game.

no, that's what I'm saying...I don't think paladin should be the top of the dps or healing, because they are meant to be hybrids.
All I was saying is it leaves them at a certain disadvantage in raids, at least in my experience, since people want either the best healers, the best dps, or the best tanks. Blizzard would have to make it so that paladin, even if they don't out-do anyone, will still be a valuable and wanted addition to the raid.
Jul 31st 2007 2:17PM @25/26 - you guys are both on the right page...since paladin are supposed to be a hybrid class, if they end up making ret better, then need to nerf healing and tanking. The ability for paladin to do everything well, but nothing perfectly, or however you want to say it, is what paladin are all about. The fact that a paladin can heal better than a priest is true, but preposterous. Just look at the name. A Priest fer pete's sake.
The problem with that is most people in raids want definability. A rogue does dps, a priest heals, a warrior tanks. What do paladin do? rogues can out dps them, warriors can outtank them, and priests can outheal them (if the paladin is an ideal hybrid class) so that leaves paladin kind of out of the loop if you're working on the whole Nihilium efficiency system.
I don't really have ideas to fix any of this, just throwing my ideas out there...paladin can't be great at everything, so if they make ret better, they are gonna have to nerf healing to make it fair.
