Jan 7th 2009 7:40PM Aggro radius and difficulty of the surrounding area has nothing to do with this change. If you have a hard time farming resources in a zone then change zones or visit the AH.
You will always lose, in ANY competition, when competing with a significantly higher level person whether it is mining or farming NPCs for a drop.
That is a separate issue and has absolutely nothing to do with the mining change. The mining change benefits everyone except the ninjas.
If you want that level of equality, go play checkers.
Jan 7th 2009 5:52PM "but in that case they usually get scared that they're caught and run"
Did someone outsource the trolls today because they aren't from this planet.
Jan 7th 2009 5:25PM @Daniel
"No, exactly the opposite. This change ONLY benefits those who steal nodes from others."
Ah, I get it now. You didn't RTFA. Explain please how you think that once you tap the node an 80 is going to come in and take it from you?
The only scenario that allows your argument is if the lowbie comes in and tries to tap a node already being mined by the 80.
The only people who lose here are the thieves. Like you.
Jan 7th 2009 5:19PM And while you are ganking miners, someone else just went and one-click that Titanium node you're looking for. Yeah, that's smart.
I'm so glad I left the brain-dead world of PvP servers behind.
Jan 7th 2009 5:17PM Your logic is baffling.
Because you spend LESS time at a node you think you're going to spend MORE time in flight? No, the time in flight remains the same, and you will be able to visit more nodes with the time saved mining.
Jan 7th 2009 5:13PM @Daniel
What planet are you living on? It just became easier to collect all your ore/gems in the same amount of time it took you to get the point skill up and a fraction of the node's contents.
Smells like someone who steals nodes other people have claimed if you ask me. Too bad for you.
Dec 22nd 2008 3:20PM "Here you would likely be at the top of the list"
Can you explain this to me? Are you keeping the loot list outside the pug, for use next time?
The only good thing I can see with SK is that if i join a PUG and I know my roll is lousy, I don't need to stay with the pug. I can go do something that has a good chance of benefiting my character.
Dec 22nd 2008 2:29PM Scott, are you are up to speed on the best stats holy priests? If you haven't already, maybe you should head over to EJ and read the healing compendium by Contantius (http://elitistjerks.com/f77/t35208-wotlk_healing_compendium_v3_0_theorycraft_specs_etc/).
Priest really want int > spi > mp5, and you are sandbagging them if you are loading them up with mp5 and passing the int items to caster dps.
Additionally, when you state that healers can get their gear in other ways (rep, crafting, etc) I really hope your guild is powerlevelling their professions or you are just treating the healers badly. With the meager number of dailies available for the wrath factions, you are looking at WEEKS of doing dailies three at a time for each faction, while watching the rest of your raid become geared up.
I know that if I was healing in your raid, if I wasn't being given the opportunity to roll on items that would help me gear up, I'd probably look elsewhere pretty quickly.
May 19th 2008 6:28PM Because instead of making two different games that are good, they are making one game that sucks.
Each part of the game is effected and more often than not undermined by the other. They are different game genres that don't mix, oil and water and all that.
They are lollerinas, both the combat platform and those that think it is some sort of heroic combat. Go play an FPS, they do the same thing only better, and have done so for years.
Put real PvP back into the game, bring it back to the world and give it meaningful goals this time.
