Oct 15th 2010 11:01AM Ohhh, a tank.
Patch night, I spec'd and queued up for a random as a tank. Got OK. "Oh, goody," I thought. "This is destined to be fun times." I load in and tell the group "Take it easy on me for a few pulls, please, guys? I haven't tanked in months and things look a bit different now." I was met with silence. "Alright," I thought, "they aren't the social type."

Mobs going everywhere before my Charge was even finished. My twitchy fingers hit Thunder Clap just as I got to my Charge target. TC hit 1 target. :-\
So... don't pug with reject DPS who can't begin to comprehend the concept of having a little courtesy for their still-adapting tank's polite requests. If you can get a full group of trustworthy guildies, go for it. Just... don't... PUGs are awful. >:(
Oct 15th 2010 10:34AM With my Arms build, the night before the hotfix went through, I couldn't even break 3300 DPS on the heroic dummy. Logged on the morning after the fix and was pushing close to 6k. My Fury spec wasn't pushing quite as hard as my Arms spec, maybe within 500-800 DPS of it, though.
I have never been one of those people who gemmed for ArPen. I've used Strength like warriors should do in the first place, geared accordingly and have never noticed a difference between my raid performance and that of similarly-geared ArPen-stackers. Because of that, I was more than ready for 4.0 and didn't have to regem a single thing and just logged on and went to town.
But as far as performance goes, without access to Colossus Smash, I think Fury's very likely to be standing in second place to Arms for a good while. I've always like Arms better, so I'll not complain here.
So I'd vote to go ahead and pick up your warrior and leave that evil paladin thing alone. :P
Oct 15th 2010 10:22AM The tiger was THE mount I've always wanted and now it's going away after so many futile farming trips. And yet mages get to keep their Polymorph Tome "available through other means." I hate you, mages. More than I've ever hated PvP, I hate you. /shakefist
Oct 12th 2010 12:07PM This is why paying attention in class is a good thing.
Sep 27th 2010 1:31PM I feel the pain on this one, especially since I just bought the thing in the past 2 weeks for an easy-access-to-capitals-come-Cataclysm. Now they do this. Nnnnnnnn. ~>:(
Sep 23rd 2010 3:10PM "D2 first mode, whatever that was called"
Sep 23rd 2010 3:07PM I was confused by Defense Rating appearing on that shield as well. But the suggestion that it's there to differentiate tanking gear from caster gear doesn't make any sense. Str is not a caster stat, Int is not a tank stat. You shouldn't have to check for DR to know if it's a tank shield or not. >.
Sep 21st 2010 2:00PM Here's hoping quest hub area = no flagging. While I won't rawr @ PvPers, it's just not my thing at all, but rep and mounts are more my area. And while Blizzard wants to put the "War" back in "Warcraft" I hope they at least made decisions in this area based on folks like me. >.
Sep 21st 2010 1:49PM Continuing to copy/paste this one cuz I'm still really curious.
I've been following Cataclysm mechanics news pretty closely, even the PvP mess that I have no interest in. I haven't seen, however, anything about how Tol Barad will work outside of when the battle is going on. I know it's supposed to function like IQD, but since it's a PvP zone, will we be autoflagged just by entering the zone like Wasteograsp? Or will I be able to do quests and dailies and build rep and blah blah without fear of being forced into a PvP situation I have absolutely no desire to be in?
Sep 21st 2010 1:48PM Where's my non-mobile version of this? Why am I not allowed to access guild chat at times when I don't feel like logging in but would like to be able to see who's online and maybe chat someone up without wasting time standing around Dalaran? >.
