At last it dropped {WoW}
Feb 12th 2008 9:35PM I ended up killing Illidan with the rep mace from Lower City. SSC, TK, ZA, Hyjal and BT all refused to drop caster one-handers for me.
First kill after Illidan was Na'jentus and of course he dropped the dagger. Oh well, at least I finally got my upgrade!

Are instance drops really random? {WoW}
Aug 20th 2007 6:21PM As a shadow priest, I cause nothing but +healing gear to drop (wether it be cloth, leather, mail or plate). The pally healers adore me and my healing set is slowly starting to look more impressive than my +shadow dmg gear. /sob
Exalted by 40: My little undead pony {WoW}
Aug 5th 2007 10:15PM It's very doable. I got my kitty at 42 (human) and my friend (draenei) at 41. We could have gotten it earlier but there were some quests in Darkshore that we somehow overlooked, thus meaning we had to do quests in Feralas that opened at 40 to reach exalted. Because of the quest xp, we dinged past 'just' 40.
No runecloth needed.
