May 9th 2008 1:22PM You hit on this briefly, but I can tell you definitively that for some hunters the Wind Serpent is significantly better than other pets for raiding. A T5-level (or higher) BM hunter with >30% crit gets so much focus that the serpent's lightning will do far more damage than Claw can. The top hunter in my guild switched from a cat (Sneakypussy) to a Wind Serpent (Trousersnake) and saw his pet dps jump by 50-100. This only works if you crit enough to keep the serpent's focus up, but a feral druid's LotP helps immensely. This is applies to raid DPS not soloing, and requires a certain level of gear to be effective.
