Ask a Lore Nerd: All about dragons {WoW}

Dec 29th 2008 2:01PM After finishing that quest line...

I do not want to run nexus anymore.

Excellent story....although I wish the dialogue was more ...in alignment with the rest of the story...

Its truly tragic.

Of course, I do run it...its loot an xp....but....

Breakfast Topic: Dailies and you {WoW}

Dec 28th 2008 2:20PM Some days I do dailies, some day not.
Depends on if I want to run instances, and what is going on in guild chat.

To the comment about the time: You are correct, some people cant tear themselves away from reality tv and sensationalistic
docu-dramas.....average person watches FIVE HOURS OF TV A DAY.

Me, I watch about 3 a week (dvr ftw) and play wow with friends.

Tuesday Morning Post: It's still not patch day, is it? {WoW}

Dec 23rd 2008 9:25AM Actually, I find this post (and others like it) valuable in that they are nice summaries of past posts, allowing me to see what I may have missed during the week.

Poll: Should 40-mans make a come back? {WoW}

Dec 23rd 2008 9:20AM As a current and past raid leader I have a few thoughts on this.

I will agree to many of the positive aspects of 40 man raids (challenge, building relationships, etc.) .

In fact, we have almost 40 80s in our raiding team now...

However, in taking MANY of the factors into account, especially from a leader/organizer perspective: NO.

Not just no, but hell no.

You can get all those positives in a 25 man (and some 10).

I would (and do) rather organize 2 25 man runs, or 4 10's before doing a 40.

For those that say "no big deal" have not had to manage the sheer logistical nightmare, and the excessive ego issues associated with raiding...showing up to raid is easy...making sure others can show up an raid is the work.

Nov 27th 2008 1:06PM On Heroics:

Many forget that BEFORE we all had t5/6 (well, actually most people did not....) heroics at 70 were a challenge.

Yes, they were. Think back.
Sure, after clearing BT they are cake, but when fresh?
They were harder than kara (for other reasons as well).

So, we need a heroic review by someone who is NOT in 70 end game (sadly, I am not leveling my toons who are not), to get a good idea.

Ask WoW Insider: The ninja debuff {WoW}

Nov 24th 2008 8:59PM This is a contradiction:

"The reason; this game doesn't entitle you to anything, nothing is truely yours until you earn it. And killing mobs near a node or seeing it first doesn't make it your's"

So, how do you "earn" it?

In my book, if you kill all the mobs on the approach, then someone else comes and gets it while you are on the last mob, then YOU earned it.

There is a reason spawn points are close to nodes, so people have to work for them (either in avoidance or killing). The person doing the work should get the reward.

Ghostcrawler and the bears {WoW}

Nov 20th 2008 1:33PM Sorry, that was supposed to be:

Also, do not compare swipe with warriors aoe thunderclap.
They are a lot different. Compare the swipe with cleave (only 2 targets) and SHOCKWAVE. Good warrior tanks still keep the mobs in front.

Ghostcrawler and the bears {WoW}

Nov 20th 2008 1:31PM As a player who plays BOTH a BEAR and WARRIOR tank, I have to say NO to 360 as well.

They each have their strengths, I personally think they are balanced in combat. Yes, the pack thing is weird, but hey, I can heal in comabt and now use items, so it is not as bad soloing.

Also, do not compare swipe with warriors aoe thunderclap.
They are a lot different. Compare the swipe with cleave (only 2 targets) and Thundercalp. Good warrior tanks still keep the mobs in front.

We are almost like pallies now, I can throw on a hot, thorns, barkskin and run into a HUGE pack of mobs, and swipe them down in no time, it is amazing.

With warriors getting charge in def stance, we did lose some of that advantage in tanking, but thats ok, the tins cans needed it.
Heroic throw also gave them a better ranged opener, but they needed that too.

However, when not tanking, it is druids all the way, ftw.
Instant cast flight form (thank you blizz for the 71 gimmie), and stealth make gathering a breeze, not to mention (look out for the nerf!) the changes to shadowmeld.

No 360 swipe? Thats ok, there still has to be a few more things separating the true grizzly tanks from the carebare wannabes.

Drudakai says, "only you can prevent wipes in raids..."

The Queue: Leveling, bug reports and the Scourgeborne {WoW}

Nov 17th 2008 12:49PM Spend them.

Not on gems either (unless you find some suckers).

Some of the high end badge gear will STILL last you a long time in Northrend.
