The Light and How to Swing It: The storied history of the paladin tank (part 1) {WoW}
Nov 11th 2011 6:28PM I did that too! I tanked Uldaman as Holy back in Vanilla because Holy Shock was our only pulling spell for non-undead. My group was incredibly surprised when I did it too "What are you doing? How are you pulling those mobs?"
The 'Gantz' Movie: How to Water Down A Manga Until It Drowns [Review] {ComicsAlliance}
Jan 24th 2011 4:13PM Everything you say here is spot on. The (atrocious) dub was the main sticking point for me. How hard is it to find somebody who can say "Manga" properly anyhow?
For such a bloated mess, the film was oddly light. Kurono is so squeaky clean as to be unbelievable (why remove his porn from the subway scene?) and only let down by his failure to live up to his elementary school heroism for five minutes. Kishimoto's original doesn't live though her suicide attempt (at least that we see) so her conflict doesn't exist; we just wonder why she suddenly wants to live with Kurono.

AMC's 'The Walking Dead' Premieres Score 8.3 Million Viewers For All Showings {ComicsAlliance}
Nov 1st 2010 8:00PM Apparently 3.6 million adults 18-49. Largest premier for any show on cable this year. Ratings beat everything on NBC except The Office and Football. I'd like to think it beat expectations.

The OverAchiever: The 25 most entertaining achievements finale {WoW}
Aug 19th 2010 6:23PM That's what Allison means when saying: "there's even a /headdesk moment toward the end as you gift-wrap a historic sword for an elvish faction to which you're not particularly attached and then inquire on the status of whatever other ridiculously powerful weapons they might have hanging around the back"
You learn all about the lore of this amazing sword, then just toss it to the elves and say "Oh, got anything... blunt-er?"

You Should Be Reading 'King City' {ComicsAlliance}
May 11th 2010 3:49PM I like both. The Tokoypop one definitely wins for portability. However, I can't get enough of Graham's art and the oversized pages in the singles let me pour over each page for the cool little in-jokes he hides all over the place. His webpage over at http://royalboiler.livejournal.com/ (Fair warning, some NSFW Content) is a treasure trove of Euro-comics, vintage anime and odd experimental art stuff.
Anyway, I agree with the substance of the article, everyone should be reading King City.
Breakfast Topic: Would you play a Worgen or a Goblin? {WoW}
Jul 18th 2009 9:58AM I've already 'reserved' both Angua and TheTramp as character names, so I"m thinking I'd play a worgen.
Don't Be That Guy: Heroes Con Edition {ComicsAlliance}
Jun 24th 2009 11:34AM Ugh. This kind of behavior is completely insane. Even more so because the people who left the crazy-ass note were no doubt fans of comics in general and Bendis in specific. They were at HeroesCon so we can assume they would want future HeroesCons to continue to pull in high profile guests. Which I would hate to see become more difficult in the future.
Bendis was completely polite throughout Saturday when I was there, not hesitating to sign large numbers of comics for people (I saw people with 15-20 per person) and answering the most off the wall questions posed to him by fans. He took the time to gave me the rundown on future plans for Powers. Hell, he passed out multiple types of cookies to everyone in line! Free cookies! How can you be pissed at somebody who hands out chocolate chip to people standing in line to see him?
Just don't be a jerk to people. Don't try to snipe a line in front of an empty table then stand around and get pissed. Go talk to David Mack or Matt Fraction, who both had tables adjacent to Bendis and no lines (TRAVESTY). Go browse a vendor. You are there to have fun and talk to people who share your hobbies as well as the creators of that which you enjoy. Lose the aggro.
