Oct 15th 2007 10:51AM Too bad 2/3 of the weapons look butt ugly. I took the mace on my original human warrior because they are all pretty much comparable, but had the mace skill bonus.
The sword looks like a cheese knife and the axe just looks like you'd sooner accidentally gouge out your own eye carrying it. Add to that the fact that when you enchant it you just get these 2-3 retarded globes of fire / blue stuff / what have you and it looks even more stupid.
WHY! WHY did our signature weapon have to look so cheap and ugly!
Oct 15th 2007 10:35AM Editor is an idiot.
I own both guides and combined with meta map they are freakin sweet. I leveled 2 toons to 70 the 'natural' way, and the third in about 1/3 the time as the other 2 when using brian kopp's guide.
Once you've done STV twice already, you'd pay $35 to be able to zip through it in 3 or 4 big quest loops. Using BK's guide I finished STV in 2 nights of questing, without a mount! Sorry, but doing the STV quest grind for a third time is not my idea of "content."
Oct 15th 2007 10:30AM I'd say the 45 second intro is a bigger crime than the private server.
Any monkey can slap together a warcraft video, why do they all have to pretend to be citizen kane or something with the self indulgent openings.
Sep 17th 2007 3:40PM Insightful answer:
When the BGs started up, I still wasn't really sure which faction I wanted to play on. One major factor I did notice was that the horde was vastly less popular--comparatively empty AH, harder to get 5-mans, and the BG queue wait times were almost non-existant.
I got into doing all day sessions in the mid level BGs with my horde toon, and basically any time we had a really good game we'd "STAY IN RAID!!!" (still had to manually set up raid groups back then) and queue up together for another instant match against 10 fresh alliance people (who invariably had to wait in 30m-2h queues)
This led to an almost guild-like relationship with the same 8-10 people that we ended up running with all day. Because of our short wait times, not only did we get to spend much more time in the BGs than the alliance on our server, but naturally, when you battle with the same people all day you learn how to better support each other and play as a team. I believe this mentality combined just having many more hours in the BGs themselves has carried over into our modern-day cross server battlegroups, and the horde still has an edge.
Everybody knows the alliance side has all the women and children, duh.
Aug 27th 2007 10:08AM PS: When I ran thru this on my 70 paladin, the mobs in the lyceum don't even agro on you unless you walk right on top of them. I just walked to the torch bearing guys, killed them, killed the elementals at the braziers and opened the doors. At most I would have to engage maybe 2 packs of mobs before I just cleared a path to escort the lowbie character.
Aug 27th 2007 10:03AM Yeah this is no big accomplishment. I ran my wife's alt thru BRD many times. The lyceum is especially easy. Just keep seal of light on and you can't miss.
Just the hit table of a level 70 versus a bunch of level 50-nothing mobs makes this ridiculously easy. A level 70 wearing decent plate has twice the Hp and mitigation that a level 60 warrior would have had running this place pre-tbc.
@14: I haven't even watched the video but I can guess that is avenging wrath you are seeing. wowhead.com/?spell=31884

Aug 20th 2007 9:21AM I heard about a paladin who DI'd another group member to stop her from reaching an herb first.
Aug 9th 2007 3:34PM Actually wait there was some brown people in there too...
