Patch 4.1 hotfixes for June 1 {WoW}

Jun 2nd 2011 9:00AM Yay for the BG fixes. The thread on the European forums was up to 45 pages of increasingly petulant whining, and some of it was even justified.

On another subject, I love how the bug fixes give an insight into the game's design. The tooltip says "increases damage for the imp's firebolt", but some lazy programmer has said to himself, "the imp only has one spell. Let's increase his spelldamage by 20% instead, much easier", and then somehow managed to leak that change into the other pets.

May 30th 2011 12:23PM Cakes go stale. Biscuits go soft. Ergo, Jaffa Cakes really are a cake.

The reason it matters, btw, is that VAT is payable on chocolate biscuits but not on chocolate cakes.

May 20th 2011 10:55PM Download TradeSkillMaster, tell it which inks you want to make, and it'll scan the AH and tell you which herbs to buy.

Patch 4.2 brings quality-of-life changes for jewelcrafting {WoW}

May 19th 2011 9:20PM I wouldn't hold your breath on rings stacking. Things that stack are things that can't be mutated - they probably just store an item ID and a quantity. Armour can be enchanted, it can lose durability, crafted stuff stores a crafter's name, etc. You can't just store the ID/quantity tuple.

Left-handed Razer Naga in the works? {WoW}

May 19th 2011 7:41PM I used to have a left-handed fountain pen. Nibs tend to work better when they're dragged rather than pushed, so the left-handed one had a nib that curved slightly to the left. I guess there could also be a left-handed biro that somehow worked better when pushed.

I have no idea why scissors don't work when I use them in my left hand, but it's true - they don't.

The Queue: Pause at just the right time {WoW}

May 6th 2011 12:25PM I don't see how 5% of players could have that title. You need to win one of the weekly fishing contents, and even if you assume each contest was won by different players (unlikely), and each player who wins one also goes on to get the other achievements required for the meta (fairly likely) you're still only going to have a few hundred on each realm who could have qualified.

Spiritual Guidance: Macros for healing priests {WoW}

Apr 19th 2011 10:10AM I still don't get it. I think your efficiency is a mirage - you're doing stuff between casts, but it doesn't get those casts off any sooner, and you're committing earlier to your next target. And you may think people who say their method is better come off as asses, Dawn, but your disclaimer notwithstanding, you plainly claim your way is better in the article - "clicking targets is preferred for casted healing".

Spiritual Guidance: Macros for healing priests {WoW}

Apr 18th 2011 7:53PM I still don't understand. Your sequence: click, cast, move mouse, click, cast, move mouse, click, cast. Mine: cast, move mouse, cast, move mouse, cast.

Apr 14th 2011 4:22PM "TSM doesn't have the equivalent of a snatch list"

It has a "Dealfinding" screen which I think is the same thing. You save a list of commodities and a price, it searches for ones lower than that?
