Oct 8th 2007 6:30AM I enjoy WOW for the story lines, the great conversations, and the easy system requirements. I have "recruited" two friends and a family member into playing. They did not have high end machines, but could play with no system upgrades. I would personally not play another fantasy MMO game unless it switch themes, like one based on the old Fallout series. Anyone have a guass rifle ammo ?
Oct 8th 2007 6:18AM An interesting article and one with merit. We have had several young members in our guild. We are a family friendly guild and keep the chatting age appropriate. Several members I invited myself (guild leader) and asked their parents to join the guild if possible. WOW can be like a big shopping mall, if you dont watch your kids, you dont know what they will be exposed to.
Comumication, team building, goal setting and manners are very imporatant and should always be encouraged.

Oct 2nd 2007 6:33AM This is my opinion on death knights and I will take it point by point instead of slamming the developers or anyone else that I disagree with
1. Death knights should be horde Pallies or Warriors only
a. DEATH knight - what does that name imply? Give it the tanking ability and rune system, but leave them in the shadowy side of life (shadow bolts and healing abilities)
b. KNIGHTS OF RENOUND or Champion Knight should be alliance pallies or warriors - that gives the impression of a hero for the light. Give him the same tanking ability and rune system as a death knight but give him holy abilities (Smite, holy light).
Anything with the word KNIGHT in it implies melee combat therefore any melee class should be able to aspire to it.
The mechanics of having both horde and alliance advanced melee classes should not be too different other than animations and should virtually be the same in terms of software code.
2. CLOTH WEARERS SHOULD NOT MELEE - Changing only melee classes into death knight type classes make sense (they wear plate and have a wide range of melee weapons) but cloth and leather wearers suddenly say "hey after all my 1 thru 79 levels of life, I can suddenly where plate and carry a two handed sword !!" It would be better to save the cloth wearers for another expansion and make them arch mages and high priests. Give them the rune system and access to higher spells Expansion level 81 - 90
3. Leather Wears – make them into high druids, high shamans, blade masters (rouge) and master hunters. Enhance there natural abilities, but keep them basically the same. This could be in another expansion – Level 91 – 100
Doing it this way almost guarantees game viability in the market place for another 5 years.
Oct 1st 2007 8:41AM I liked the content in Toshey's ? Station in the Blade Edge mountains in outland.
The station's quests are right out of star wars (picking up the power converters) and the Gnome in charge of defense is right out of Starship troupers "kill the bugs"
Oct 1st 2007 6:14AM I play because it is an inexpensive activity where I can meet and chat with people from all over the globe. As a guild leader I take interest in not only my characters development, but also the members of my guild. Our guild is casual (with option for raiding thru guild alliances) and we take interest in each other lives and chat about real world problems (we had a college algebra tutorial going in guild chat one day). If I find myself losing interest in WOW, I simply switch gears and take one of my characters out and aid guildies for a few days (or weeks)
In the end, it is not always about the game, but about the people that play it and the fun of questing and chatting with different people.
Sep 27th 2007 7:42AM I have objection to all priests getting fear ward, but should the dwarfs not get a new racial skill ?
Sep 7th 2007 6:11AM JUST SAY NO - to Wood
Wood would have a limited scope in the game unless you wanted to make wooden weapons, armor or build a house. Instead let’s give the professions some love. We all know that engineering really needs some loving so why not make arrow patterns? Get simple wood or star would from an enchanter supplier, an arrow head from a blacksmith and you have the mats to make arrows.
Instead of making a new profession, Blizzard should buff up the old ones. This would require no new trainers and the patterns could be drops, or trainable I would love to be able to make shields with my blacksmith.

You brought up a point I never considered. The banks and faction auction houses are instantaneous and magically linked in Azeroth. It is logical to assume that this infrastructure was created purposely by the kingdoms on both continents. They would have had years if not hundreds of years to set up an instantaneous link for banks and mail boxes using hundreds if not thousands of magic users to create the system.
But consider this - We are in OUT land, a place that is NOT in Azeroth. The Dark Portal just opened and is the only way to get to and from the Outland without the use of magic. So this brings us the question, if we magically link auction houses in Outland, should the fees be higher because they are expending a great deal of magic for trans-planetary (trans-dimensional?) Data transmission?
The banks and mail should stay as it would be logical that the cities would have had these systems in place before the portal opened. It would be a simple matter to tie the Azeroth mail and bank system into an existing system in Outland and would have been the first thing done for communication purposes between Azeroth and Outland. Suggesting they be shut down would have my Pally swinging from the tower at Honor Hold.
So in short the auction house should not be put in because of the amount of resources it would take to keep it in real time information without substantially raising auction house fees.
Aug 21st 2007 1:51PM I think it is a good idea that they leave the auction houses in Azeroth. Logistically how could you link a faction AH in the outlands without throwing off the whole game lore ? Also you can always make an auction house toon, leave it in a faction city and send your auction items to it.
Aug 21st 2007 7:15AM I am a Guild Leader. I refuse to use the term Guild "master". The position title is precepts which is latin for 1st among equals. All members in our guild are equal in that they have equal opportunty to the guild resourses and offices. The guild craftsmen and raid leaders are usually veterans and officers that serve the guild in some capacity. Any member can become an officer and all members have votes in policy making.
