Feb 9th 2012 11:43AM I think the recommendation of saving money for Mists of Pandaria is actually a bit reckless.
Historically, every WoW expansion has significantly devalued gold. In Vanilla, one gold was actually significant, and saving a thousand gold for your epic mount was a real achievement. In BC, a thousand gold for flying wasn't nearly as bad, in wrath it was pretty easy, and these days a thousand gold isn't much at all.
If you actually care about preserving the value of your money, then you're better of investing in something whose value is tied to scarcity or effort. For example, argent tournament pets, since they're only going to get more rare as fewer people grind those dailies, and they'll always be a chore to get.
And if you don't care about preserving the value of your money, then just spend it.
Oct 24th 2011 11:29AM You can't patent game mechanics. As long as you don't infringe on trademarks, you're golden (legally speaking; it's certainly possible the court of public opinion might differ).
Aug 15th 2011 1:27PM Not to mention people who get added to the lists for urinating in an alley behind a bar.
Sex offender lists are terrible. They're overly broad, their permanent nature goes against every concept of justice, and they encourage a guilty-until-and-even-if-proven innocent mentality.
If you've never had any problems with the guy before, leave him alone. If anything, /gkick the creep who felt the need to stalk him.
Aug 11th 2011 11:12AM Actually, I believe the answer to the last question (varying numbers of honor) is rounding.
I've noticed at times getting e.g. 524/525 exp from the same mobs, alternating with each kill.
I suspect that the game calculates things to a certain number of decimal points, rounds down, and shows you the amount you appeared to have gone up.
E.g. if I'm at 0, and I get 4.5, I will appear to be at 4, and it will say 4 exp. If I get another 4.5 exp, I'll go up to 9, and it'll say I got 5 exp.

May 5th 2011 3:15PM Just to be clear, I wasn't suggesting that they should add this in, merely that the decision not to allow apostrophes in the first place was clearly not rooted in security concerns.
May 5th 2011 11:16AM I can only assume the people who are saying that apostrophes would be unfeasible due to security concerns are not, themselves, programmers (or at least not very competent ones). That's amateur hour stuff... It's trivial to make apostrophes safe, and I guarantee security is not the reason Blizz decided not to allow them.
Vastly more likely, they didn't want people making names like '''-`.
Apr 6th 2011 11:45AM Re: Typical CC
Yellow Star: Sap (rogue), Repentance (ret pally)
Blue Square: Freezing Trap (hunter)
Those are fairly common. It particularly bugs me when people use square for something else, or assign freezing trap to something other than square. Other stuff is less common. I like to use purple diamond for warlock and green triangle for shaman.

Mar 3rd 2011 10:29AM My main character for Cataclysm was a hunter that I hadn't played at all during Wrath until the update in 4.0. She was still level 70 when 4.0 dropped, and she hit 80 a few days before Cataclysm dropped.
I also leveled a paladin in pretty much the same circumstances, though after the fact. Neither of them had a particularly difficult time leveling, though I wouldn't say it was by any means easy. Both were geared in Wrath greens when they started Cata content.
One of my wrath-era mains, a mage, was the second character I leveled. She was in epics up to early Icecrown gear, and I found her much more challenging to level despite the improved gear.
