Mar 6th 2012 1:59PM I would comment on how the various controls work and feel, combined with the gameplay, but apparently there is an NDA involved. Which is a funny thing to have in a "Global" anything.
Mar 5th 2012 4:27PM Overall, I liked this episode and thought it was fun.
However, like the 2009 Star Trek movie (which I also liked overall and thought was fun), the more I think about it the more frustrated I get with how much doesn't make any sense.
The environmental art was absolutely top notch. Map layout, the sliding doors, the little details like the panels that would activate on approach... all of that was awesome.
The entire facility being run by holograms? All the guards (and Warden) being deactivated by shutting down one of the two ISIS cores? How some of the prisoners managed to not only get out of their cells, but also manage to leap across giant chasms and go through forcefields (that were still up and active), not to mention a system set up such that a loss of one of the main computer cores opens all the physical doors instead of locking them down. The station not detecting all those Jem'hadar beaming in with Eraun (who I don't recall ever actually getting permission to beam down to begin with)? Allowing visitors to beam down to a maximum security facility full of dangerous criminals while armed to the teeth? Access panels that let you open doors (and lower forcefields), but don't let you close the doors after you open them? The lead AI not being able to recognize that you're not the official that's supposed to visit a specific high profile prisoner *but insists you visit him anyway*...
Yeah, this is a lot like the ST 2009 movie. I had fun playing it, but the more I think about it, the more frustrated I get.
Feb 28th 2012 4:21PM Very nice detail work, but... for an anti-aircraft gun, it doesn't look like it can aim "up" or shoot at fast moving airborne targets very well. Looks more like it should be a anti-tank or anti-structure gun emplacement instead.
Feb 13th 2012 8:05PM @(Unverified) my next experiment will be to feed a tribble some Bajoran Occupation Juice... errr.. Kanar
Feb 13th 2012 8:03PM @TerilynnS maybe I'm cruel, but I intentionally fed my tribbles some ketrecel-white to see if they would breed some crack-baby furballs (for SCIENCE!). The result was as follows: Yes the tribbles will eat your ketrecel, but no new tribble is bred from it.
Feb 8th 2012 1:35PM So how do you get the "cards" for these "decks"? Are they drops? Do you get them as level-up rewards? Do you buy them (with in-game currency or actual $)?
Jan 20th 2012 8:42PM @(Unverified) "*sigh* I rolled Trooper and went Commando and I find myself wishing I went Vanguard because well this might seem superficial but I am so not digging the BFG gun. "
I really don't know what they were thinking when they broke down some of these class trees. I know I didn't roll a Commando with a bigass minigun or a dual-pistol wielding Mercenary so I could sit in the back and NOT use my awesome guns to make things dead. However, because we have healing trees, everyone expects us to heal. So I guess I just don't get to go on group things if I don't gimp my guns.
Jan 20th 2012 8:32PM Maybe it's because I was already burned out on WoW for a year and forced myself to keep playing (to keep up with friends) before I finally quit in 2009, but SWtOR's similarities to WoW really grate on me. Everywhere I see those similarities I think that was an opportunity to show something really different and they just didn't. Once I get done with the storylines of the toons I'm interested in (b/c that's the thing w/ pre-written storylines, they have a beginning, middle, and end), I don't see the WoW-traditional raids or PvP 'endgame' keeping me subbed. (Also not a fan of the Rogue Squadron style "tunnelshooter" space combat)
Jan 17th 2012 7:25PM lol, if the concept of playing Traveller didn't already transport me back to the '80's, the cheesy guitar definitely did. Wish the was on Android though...
Jan 15th 2012 1:26AM @Seffrid How does this game compare to SWtOR?
It's nothing like WoW.
