Sep 10th 2010 11:34PM Ok so I take back what I said about what an Audi is supposed to look like...kinda...
Retro is cool and all...but in the market that Audi represents...I have seen nobody drawing these conclusions. Retro subtleties are witty and I like that...but I still stand by my statement about a knockoff restyled faux-chrome look. It's a "european design treatment" but so is the Genesis. Good god man! Look at that front grille! It's not right! It doesn't look like A7 material and it sure as hell isn't going to fly for S7 design. It ISN'T typical Audi as you say it is..it may be hearkening back to a retro design which I can appreciate but I think it's a bit of a stretch.
And don't get me wrong, John, I'm a die-hard hatch guy. And as for "fastbacks" or "sportbacks" I like everything that comes to mind except the current Crosstour and the Acura equivalent ...I can at least say I can appreciate their utility.
Well that's all for me..tough being the devil's advocate =D
Sep 10th 2010 6:01PM You guys really think that rear end looks like an Audi?
I mean, I'm all for function over form but something about the "sportback" style as I see it in these pictures doesn't say Audi.
It looks like somebody just kinda came in and without really knowing what an Audi is supposed to look like squished a hunchback onto it. Some may say that this kind of evolution is a good thing but I don't think it's a good direction.
I know the A7 is supposed to be a big car. This seems too wide to me and it seriously looks like a Kia-fied knockoff from the back and a Hyundai-fied knockoff from the front with 4 rings. Nothing impressive to see here as much as I DO like the looks of the rest of the current Audi lineup.
Of course this is coming from a Subaru fanatic so...
Sep 10th 2010 4:39PM IT'S HIDEOUS!!
Sep 10th 2010 8:01AM Damn...I was there yesterday and nothing in sight.. =(
Sep 9th 2010 10:42PM @Need More Lutz For GM
The new 2011 WRXs haven't hit dealers yet. I live near the second largest Subaru dealer in the nation and I've been told that mid Nov is when they will expect their first delivery on people ordering them now.
For now it's just 2010 WRX/STi & the 2011 base Impreza.
I sat in it at the New York auto show and it seems the only immediately visible difference from mine (2009) is the fenders.
Sep 9th 2010 10:25PM And according to the pics in the downloadable brochure, the funky fenders are on all 2011 WRX models.
The pics use in the configurator for the base and premium WRX are from 2010!
(I was wondering why this was the case this morning when I happened to be playing with it, glad I'm not going crazy; it was driving me crazy at work all day worrying I couldn't get the premium with the fancy fenders)
Sep 9th 2010 10:18PM So it looks like to get the bulging fenders you need to go with the WRX limited. The base WRX and the WRX premium "model" in the configurator either incorrectly displayed or bodywork-wise all you get different from the front is the scoop in the bonnet.
Oh but looking at the Photos & Videos section the 360 view it shows a WRX Premium with the "updated" bodywork. Hrm. Someone messed up the configurator and just photoshopped the hood scoop!

Actually it's an AWD Edge on steroids...that's one of the main differences.
I see people who aren't Jeep loyalists choosing this over a Grand Cherokee now. We'll just have to see how they price it with all those fancy new gadgets and superior build quality!
Jul 21st 2010 7:56AM @guitarkid ...From the briefings blurb listed on the black hat site:
"Confirmed affected routers include models manufactured by Linksys, Belkin, ActionTec, Thompson, Asus and Dell, as well as those running third-party firmware such as OpenWRT, DD-WRT and PFSense."
Jul 2nd 2010 8:35AM That looks like my Impreza but in red.
