Joyswag: Direct2Drive's 50+ $5 games for you, dear reader [update] {Joystiq}

Oct 6th 2009 1:48PM RPGs FTW! I hate twitch, and it's the best value for the dollar (usually).

iPhone OS 3.1 now enforces Exchange encryption policy, may block pre-3GS iPhones {TUAW.com}

Sep 10th 2009 12:38PM Not sure if this is exactly the same or not, but on my WinMo phone I have an exchange account set up. My work requires that I activate security on my phone (PIN lock) to connect to the Exchange server. Of course, I have no mail that needs to be secure, so having to enter a PIN every time I want to check something on my phone is annoying. Since I can do a remote wipe, I'm really not worried about it from a security angle. So, I can go into the registry and change a setting to disable the requirement client-side.

The point of this rambling is, perhaps on an iPhone, there is also a client-side hack that can be made (though it would probably involve jailbreaking). Sure it's a security hole, but seriously, if someone steals my phone, I seriously doubt they're going to try to spam my office network with meatspin links or something; they'll prolly just pawn it.

Aug 21st 2009 4:58PM DAMMIT! Still no Taruen rogue. That would have been so badass :P

My Tether turns mild-mannered Palm Pres into wild and crazy hotspots {Engadget}

Aug 6th 2009 9:57AM "We're still waiting to see whether Palm or Sprint will put an end to these 3G hijinks"

I can do this on my WinMo Touch Diamond on Sprint (free app, auto install of course). Part of the setup is to edit the registry of the device to tell Sprint it's the phone using the data, not a tethering connection. So, Sprint can't stop it, because it doesn't know what you're doing. You just have to watch how much bandwidth you use.

David Pogue and his 'Take Back the Beep' campaign {TUAW.com}

Jul 31st 2009 12:53PM Yup, pressing 1 allows callers to skip all that crap and go straight to the beep on Sprint. Also, when checking your voicemail, 1 skips all the prompts. Got a new message? Mash 1 a couple of times and you'll get right to it.

Jul 14th 2009 1:16PM Ok, great, they jack up the prices of the songs, then give them back to us bundled. Hooray!

Two song Digital 45s now available in iTunes {TUAW.com}

Jul 14th 2009 1:06PM Well, considering two 99 cent songs cost $1.98, $1.99 is a bit of a ripoff. I guess the .01 is a convenience fee?

Liquid Image video camera goggles get upgraded specs, Japanese release {Engadget}

Jul 9th 2009 10:41AM Well, it's only about $150. I'm sure it will go deeper than 30 feet, they just can't say it will for warranty reasons. For that price, I'd take it down to 100 feet and just see what happens :P
