Aug 15th 2007 2:28AM I think it's important to not just date someone to date someone, because in the end, you're dating that person to end up with them. You should touch base and see if you two can make it as friends before you can make it as lovers, because if so your bond will be that much stronger.
That being said, I just let my ex move in with me for two weeks. (college lease terms suck ass) and we're the best of friends. I have a current very serious boyfriend who gets a little touchy about it sometimes, but he has never dating someone that he has been able to be comfortable friends with, so he doesn't understand that there is no thought of cheating.
I think that if you date someone, you should be able to be their friend. However we've all dating the "what was wrong with me" guy before.
