Nov 8th 2011 11:44AM On the golf mini-game idea.
With the vehicle combat metaphor, actually driving, pitching, putting would be simple.
Drive requires a tee box. Pitch/Putt requires a 'ball' in proximity. Use a very small aiming cross hair that moves with the 'wind'/in a pattern to add difficulty.
Mini-golf would be easier - just putting through obstacles...
I used to play golf a bit - my driving sucked, but my pitch and putt were pretty good. Then a spinal injury ended that.
Nov 8th 2011 11:05AM I can only hope. We had little lego sets on every table at the reception to keep the little kids and the adult kids occupied :-)
We got some very.. interesting lego sculptures out of it.
I was into building things out of block before Minecraft :-D
Nov 8th 2011 10:56AM OK. Please please please.
My wife and I had Lego's on our wedding registry :-D
Nov 7th 2011 12:10PM Re: Sentry Totem....
OK, I understand you jest. Dear god I hope you jest. I remember, back in vanilla getting sentry totem and going... How do I use this thing?
I remember trying to use it look around corners for patrolling mobs.
And getting my face pounded by mobs that patrolled into me while my attention was on the sentry totem.
Oct 28th 2011 5:20PM Actually, Pokemon has no possible claim.
(and I am wrong, I hope the Lawbringer brings the LAW baby).
1.) They are using no specific art of the Pokeman franchise. [Art, Names, etc]
2.) You cannot copyright a game mechanic. Which is why you see dozens of '..opoly' rip offs running about.
Now, if Blizz gives us a little red and white ball... there MIGHT be something Pokemon could grouse about. But collecting creatures and having them battle goes as far back, arguably, as CHESS, for what is chess, if not a collection of creatures with specific abilities collected to do battle?
Oct 28th 2011 5:11PM Cutaia - it is not racism. To reduce it to racism is to belittle the cause.
Most Americans agree that Nazi Germany was as close to 'pure' evil as it is possible to be. But we don't hate the modern Germans. Why? Because Germany was conquered. And the re-born German state denounced the crimes the Nazi's committed, even going so far as to make the pledge 'Nie Wieder' (Never Again) part of their national psyche.
The Japanese militarists were deposed. But Japan was never conquered in the same way. The Japanese government has never made formal apologies or reparations for war crimes committed under the Rising Sun flag, and have even denied that most of the atrocities ever happened [as pointed out earlier].
These are the most recent of conflicts between the two peoples. The conflict goes back centuries.
Seeing their national, spiritual animal dressed as a Japanese Samurai (a symbol of oppression to them) has to be similar to the reaction a christian has to a satanic ritual that defiles a cross. Yes, it is that sort of reaction.
Oct 20th 2011 12:52PM @boobah -
I thought that Enh go dual wield and was using dual-windfury by the time AQ dropped. Am I mis-remembering?
Oct 20th 2011 11:57AM re: Shaman
Shaman have moved a lot in the canon of WoW.
In the beginning, shaman were elementalist who were in-tune with the power of the elemental spirits, spirit healers who called upon the spirits of nature and the dead for guidance and power, and a melee class with no cohesive theme, balance or lore.
I think now they have moved away from the spirits and made them all more 'elementalists' with different elemental foci.
I wish we could mix and match 'phases' of the shaman.
I'd take the Wrath Healer, The cataclysm Elementalist and the vanilla dual windfury multi-attack berserker enhancement.
Now, in the name of game balance, We're a an OK healer and a totem using Mage. I haven't played Enhancement in Cata - is it worth it?
