Apr 19th 2011 3:16PM The unified rules of MMA clearly stats that if a round is even, the score is 10-10, but this judge says
"You can grade it 10-10 but you might as well not be there if you're not going to score someone to win the round."
So in this case, you have 2 rounds that are toss ups and 1 round a clear win for one fighter, but since you decide to randomly score it 10-9 to one fighter, the fighter who does in fact clearly win a round loses... What kind of logic is that?
Also, he says "Unfortunately, judges don't have a replay, don't have a rewind, they just have to judge by what they see."
Well, the guy is a judge and he can talk to the commissions? Ask them to give you a TV screen and a rewind function. Basketball/Football judges have that, why not MMA?
Mar 28th 2011 11:10AM I don't think Bobby Lashley has a cardio problem. Let me explain. Look at the way he fights, he does not take his shots intelligently. He just goes all out. Even a fit 155 lb guy would gas out after throwing that many heavy shots. Carwin gassed out after doing that. Lashley basically needs to calm down in the ring, control first, then take intelligent shots, pass guard/get to an advantageous position before raining down shots. I think more importantly, he needs to stop being his own head coach and leave his gym for a good MMA gym that can teach him how to fight for 3 rounds.
Mar 23rd 2011 4:32PM I'm glad he's changed it. The way he was eating in the past was horrible, a protein shake is not a good substitute for a good ole fashion home cooked meal, especially not 5 times a day. Those things are called supplements and not main dishes for a reason.
Mar 4th 2011 9:20AM I betcha none of Diego's friends are going to believe that he won the fight if they didn't hear the decision.
"WTF happened to your face?"
"Oh nothing, UFC fight.."
"no actually I won..."
Mar 2nd 2011 2:47PM No knockdown, no submission attempt, no guard pass, no 10-8 round. You get a take down and you hold a guy down for 5 mins because you're afraid he will do something bad to you is not a 10-8 round.
Jan 26th 2011 1:47PM I think James "I think I'm much better than I really am and I talk way too much" McSweeney gets KTFO again.
Jan 11th 2011 10:50AM The sad part is that chances are that Fedor and Overreem will lose, Werdum will fight boring Silva and lose, and the unknown guy will dominate the other bracket.
Jan 3rd 2011 3:48PM The ref should have stopped the fight when Silva "tapped" repeatedly while mounted on vera's back. Now that would have been funny.
Dec 22nd 2010 9:22AM Who else is there to fight Nick? If they don't give him another fight soon, he will be tempted to fight in Japan, and if he loses, he will lose his marketing value. Better to feed him cans and undeserving opponents than for him to lose in an overseas promotion where you know they will throw their best at him.
Dec 20th 2010 2:44PM He's also a BJJ black belt, a collegiate wrestler and football player and has a PHD. Not that a PHD matters, but I think he would be smart enough to know if he can hang in MMA.
