Encrypted Text: Why good rogues take bad talents {WoW}

Jul 22nd 2010 1:32AM But that's the thing, if you are doing your job as a DPS class correctly, physical damage mitigation is almost entirely useless in a raid or 5-man scenario. It would be completely useless if it weren't for physical-based AoE effects, which are pretty rare. Those are very easily survived without this talent anyways.

Again, my point is not "utility talents are bad lol", my point is that utility talents should actually provide some worthwhile benefit, even if it isn't a direct DPS increase.

Gold Capped Ask an Auctioneer: My first mailbag {WoW}

Jul 22nd 2010 1:28AM Undercutting is one of the cornerstones of the gold making process. Like it or not, people are going to buy the cheapest item for sale every time, and if that item's yours, you make the profit. I'm not going to encourage aggressive undercutting, especially in slow-moving markets such as 264 crafted items, but undercutting is most definitely one of the easiest ways to increase your sales figures.

Jul 21st 2010 7:16PM I'd be ok with utility talents being forced on us if they actually provided some sort of utility. Imp. Gouge does absolutely nothing for a raider, and neither does Throwing Specialization, or Blade Twisting, or Reinforced Leather, or Improved Kick. Imp. Sprint is pretty good, and Imp. Recuperate might have some marginal use I guess. The other talents are either bad (Reinforced Leather, I'm looking at you) or PvP only (Imp. Kick, Imp. Gouge). I prefer my utility talents actually give me some sort of ya know... utility.

Breakfast Topic: Fear ... so exhilarating {WoW}

May 29th 2010 10:52PM I am terrified of deep open water. Hell, I find swimming pools scary. I know there's nothing there, but in my mind I feel as if I'll be eaten at any moment if I jump in. It just scares me to death, and I really can't explain why.

Breakfast Topic: Where's the epic {WoW}

Apr 27th 2010 12:32PM Am I the only one who noticed the updated Transcendence item graphic in the screenshot? Those item models weren't in the game before BWL was introduced, so saying it's from "before BWL was even hinted at" is false. Before that graphic was in the game, T2 actually dropped randomly in Molten Core, and had really dull placeholder models.

The Queue: Quelling subversion {WoW}

Apr 14th 2010 4:48PM I was hacked several months back, and had all of my items and gold restored within a few days. A month after I was hacked, ALL of the items and gold that were stolen got mailed back to me. I assume the hacker either deleted the account or was banned, and thus all of the items got automatically mailed back after 30 days. Getting hacked was the best thing to ever happen to my in-game wallet.

Patch 3.3.3 PTR patch notes updated {WoW}

Feb 24th 2010 4:55PM This still won't make BM Hunters raid viable, but any buffs are welcome I guess.

That Icy Talons change for Frost DKs should be a pretty substantial boost though.

Breakfast Topic: What class mechanics have you had to learn to deal with? {WoW}

Dec 23rd 2009 1:09PM I pull for the tank if he everyone has mana and we aren't currently in combat. There's no reason to sit there unless someone explicitly says they are going AFK or whatever. The goal of random heroics is to get as many emblems as you can as fast as you can, with as little effort as you can. That means chain pulling.

I'm sorry your not ready for this next trash pack, but my Misdirect says you are, so we're going. I got some badges to farm.

WoW in the running for Game of the Decade {WoW}

Dec 8th 2009 3:58AM I think it's really between Halo and WoW. SSBM is a FANTASTIC game and I wish I could vote for it, but both Halo and WoW are much more important and influential games. I would actually say Halo was the "game of the decade" if we're talking about which game has been the most influential to the industry as a whole.

Ghostcrawler to take a break from the forums {WoW}

Sep 26th 2009 5:22PM Seriously, why don't they just perma-ban anyone who posts that drivel? It's pretty obvious to anyone with a brain what GC means with most of his posts. The people who take the posts out of context, or twist his words to fit their ridiculous arguments should just be banned. No warnings, no suspensions, just ban them and move on. The WoW forums may start to resemble a useful tool at that point. There's a reason EJ forums are considered better: people that post stupidly don't get to post anymore.
