Jun 15th 2007 4:57PM Jame's guide was a great way to get my alt up to 60, but I agree it would not be the way to handle your first character. The best part of his guide is that you can feel confident you are maximizing your play time - not running a goofy side quest that takes lots of time for little reward. But again, that's only for alts - the first time through can and should be about exploration.

I know of some other brothers who have kept in touch thanks to WoW - and while none have that interesting a story, I think its a cool way to keep family bonds strong when seeing each other frequently isn't possible.
Apr 27th 2007 4:49PM Let's not forget the benefit of spell crit on healing outside of the mana recovery. Spell crit increases healing efficiency quite a bit, so 30% crit rate expands the mana pool (through crits) as well. Of course, crits have a great chance of overhealing and thus being wasted - reducing their efficiency. Illumination's mana return was always 100% efficient and perhaps that was simply too much.

Apr 2nd 2007 10:57AM I had a PUG 4-man a lot of Steamvaults with a Feral Druid (me, tanking pre-nerf), Holy Paladin, Affliction Warlock, and a Mage. We had a holy priest but he d/c before the first boss and we just kept going. We added a retro-pally just before the last boss.
The thing was, it was my first time in SV, so I figured afterewards that it must be a really easy instance. I went back with a 5-man guild group and we found out how wrong I was. It made me appreciate the 4-man group even more - and wish I had kept track of all the names!
Mar 23rd 2007 4:13PM If somebody sent me an intelligent tell that was clearly looking for something like a mount or a specific item, I might consider it. I honestly probably wouldn't give them any gold though. You don't *need* a blue weapon at 12 to level up easily to a point where the weapon no longer has value (20 at best.) And frankly, mount money isn't all that hard to come by if you are willing to work for it. It is a surprise at 40 to need that much gold, I do remember that. But if you aren't obsessed with having one and willing to farm something, it's well within reach.
However, nobody has ever sent me a tell like that. Instead I get tells like 'hi', followed by 'plz give me gold' or some other poorly worded nonsense.
I did have a low level character ask me for advice recently. Questions like 'what class is best', 'what race is best for a mage', etc. It was clearly somebody trying to figure out what combo was uber, but I tried to be honest and get them to pick something they would have the most fun with.
Mar 23rd 2007 1:48PM Forgive me, but I don't believe owning multiple accounts is not against the Terms of Service. Several people I know have multiple accounts for 2-boxing or for use with multiple family members (husband and wife, father and son, etc.) I looked through the entire document and I can't find any reference that would imply you can't own more than one account. Did I miss something? Or are you saying the xZin shouldd guy be banned?
Mar 21st 2007 1:43PM We took a resto druid, feral druid (20k armor, 11k health), and a rogue into UBRS and could not handle Drakk. We only had blue gear (quested, drops) and while we made short work of everything else in there (The Beast was a blast - long battle of attrition) Drakk and his guards were too difficult to handle that way. Between his fear (which we did not resist) and the guards pounding we couldn't do enough DPS fast enough. We thought sleeping the guards would work, however they resisted often and broke very early.
I have to wonder if a mage (rather than a rogue) might have been better. Some CC for the guards is a must, even at 70.
Mar 5th 2007 1:25PM My guild has used rpgoutfitter and while we didn't require people to use it we found it helped the guild overall and encouraged it. We don't care what spec you have or what gear you have, but we did want to make it easier to find crafters who could make the item you want, know who had what instance key, and prove what rep you had (for AQ/ZG drops.)
