Gold Capped: A tailoring leveling guide {WoW}

Dec 24th 2011 12:33AM Also look up which recipes you can buy from vendors (especially those in limited supply) and underpriced recipes which pop on the AH. These might fill in some leveling ranges, but even better, they can make tailoring much more profitable at low levels. Dark Silk Shirt, Admiral's Hat, White Wedding Dress, swashbucklers' shirts, black or red mageweave set etc. all bring in good AH money as transmog or vanity gear. Use that to buy stacks or bolts of cloth to continue your leveling.

Official Raid Finder Q&A {WoW}

Nov 30th 2011 10:57AM LFR is so easy that everyone gets to see all the bosses, so that should make the learning curve lower for "real" raids. So I would expect it to be easier for people to run their own 10-mans in normal content successfully (as long as they are intelligent enough to learn from what they saw in LFR). Heroic content should remain very difficult for the population who decides to move on to those challenges, but I expect to see many more people finishing normal mode raids in this tier.

Breakfast Topic: What was your turning point in WoW? {WoW}

Nov 27th 2011 1:01PM It probably won't be as affirming as some of these other stories if I say that my turning point was ganking, huh?

I started out on a PVE server (never played an MMO before) and with difficulty levelled a druid to Winterspring in Vanilla. While questing there, I saw a Tauren flagged for PVP. I bombed him with Starfire, but the real result of this cowardly kill was me realizing that that 5 seconds of combat with another actual player was way more exciting than anything else I had done in the game. I started playing battlegrounds on my druid and soon after switched to a PVP server.

So then PVP on a rogue was my focus through most of BC and Wrath. Then another turning point came when I wanted an epic PVE weapon. I didn't raid, but I had read about the Battered Hilt (probably on WOW Insider) and decided to buy one, but I had little experience making gold. So I spent time on gold blogs, developed profitable strategies, and made that my new focus, buying the Hilt, Mammoth and enough mounts to hit 50 and get the albino drake. Though frankly I wasted a lot of gold on stuff I don't use and hardly play that rogue anymore now either...

Anyway, the game keeps changing for me and I wonder if there's another major shift in store for me down the line.

Totem Talk: Choosing to play an elemental shaman {WoW}

Sep 25th 2011 9:56PM This may inspire me to try levelling an elemental shaman, as I am still quite ignorant of the class (the only other I haven't messed with in all these years is warlock). The totem system always perplexed me a little, I suppose. But I like the idea of a mobile nuke caster who's maybe not too squishy in PVP?

It's hilarious getting rocked off the cliffs at the lumber mill in Arathi Basin but I bet it's even more fun to be on the other side of that.
