Sep 20th 2010 11:48AM No. Achievements are never taken away. "Achievement" in WoW means that at some time in the past, you fulfilled its requirement. (Or at various times in the past, you fulfilled each of its requirements.)
For an illustration, look at how Mercenary of Sholazar is implemented. It requires you to reach exalted with the The Oracles and the Frenzyheart Tribe. It is impossible to have both at the same time.
Dec 9th 2009 11:23AM Oh come on. The new ammo is cheaper.
stack of Mammoth Cutters:
1 Saronite Bar - 1-2 gold
1 Volatile Blasting Trigger - 1 gold
stack of Shatter Rounds:
2 Crystalized Earth - 1.5 gold
stack of Saronite Razorheads:
2 Saronite Bar - ~3 gold
stack of Iceblade Arrow:
2 Crystallized Shadow - 1 gold
Note: the above prices are based on 1/5 the cost of an Eternal, rather than 2x the cost of a Crystallized -- the latter are always stupidly inflated to gouge folks who don't know how to convert Eternals to Crystallized.

Jun 12th 2009 11:34AM No loot system can "solve" the problem of equal-drop-rate items dropping unequally.
If something is weirdly, unpredictably rare for your group, then there will be a high demand for it. The system is *working* if it awards the item to someone who has gone longest without winning something.
Sep 30th 2008 11:17PM Armor. The devs are balancing our mitigation and survivability around the fact that there is no "extra armor" on leather anymore. We're coming out very well.
This new tuning means that armor on other slots is even more valuable to us now. There is still "extra armor" as a stat on weapons, cloaks, rings, and trinkets. No necks in BC had armor, but there's 6 in Wrath that do, including an epic JC BOE. The heroic blue Enraged Feral Staff has 1092 armor. So definitely major paths to mitigation greatness there.
The fact that we don't have to gem/enchant for defence means we can load up on stamina too.
Sep 30th 2008 11:02PM I've been following the Druid developments closely this summer. A few responses to comments above:
Omen of Clarity vs. Berserk at level 70. OOC is around 60% more DPS in catform than Berserk. OOC is a passive effect (not even a self-cast buff anymore), while Berserk in either form requires timing and playstyle adjustments while active. For that reason I'd recommend Berserk until level 71 just because we're all going to want lots of practice with it!
Protector of the Pack. The tooltip explicitly states that the mitigation buff is set when you enter bearform. Dead, DC'ed, and offline people in your party count toward the buff -- this has been tested and confirmed by players.
Mana regen for Feral: The new ILotP talent also grants the Druid 8% of their maximum mana every time they receive an ILotP heal (which is triggered by crits dealt, on a 6 second CD). Considering normal regen that's a free shift every 30-40 seconds. Arcane Intellect and Replenishment mean we will be able to do a couple things in caster and then get back into catform, every couple minutes if we keep hitting things.
Aug 6th 2008 1:55PM Velutina, your bear hit the armor cap *against L70 mobs* in T4 gear.
I really hope WotLK buffs the character sheet armor tooltip so that folks will see what % mitigation they get against level+3 mobs.
Aug 6th 2008 1:26PM Questions I'm burning to know about:
-If the Druid Inscriptions are obtainable, can you play with the one that adds 3 seconds to Rip? It's strange because Rip ticks every 2 seconds, so that would add 1 tick plus 1 second of damage-less "bleed" debuff during which you can't re-apply Rip. Did they change the way Rip ticks?
-How does the base effect of Demo Roar now compare to the base effect of warriors' Demo Shout? How about when both are 5/5 talented?
-Does Infected Wounds affect instance bosses?
Jul 31st 2008 5:15PM Here's one problem with Tinnitus I'm not seeing people talk about: say I'm a healer. I'd like to be able to use Drums of Resto to stretch the group's longevity in a tight healing situation. But I can't because in the prior two minutes someone else used the +hit rating drums, giving the healers Tinnitus and a useless buff.
In a well-organized group it means one LW will be in charge of picking the raid's Drum buff every 2 minutes according to the raid's need rather than their own.
There are 2x25 Professions present in a raid. Before populatity effects the default # of LWs to expect will be 5. So for 4 of them, the raid-buff ability of their profession will be worthless.
