Jul 28th 2008 3:59PM Does melee/casting slow effect of DK's Icy Touch work on bosses?
Setting up a good Frost tank build will depend a lot on that question.
Jul 24th 2008 11:05AM With every individual rune having its own 10-sec refresh time, 4 Frost runes would allow 1Frost abilities to be nearly spammed at 1 per 2.5 secs. Clearly that's nuts.
However if they only allowed one rune of each type to be regenerating at a time, no runeblade setup would be OP. Once all your runes were used you'd be getting the same refresh rate of one of each type per 10 secs. It'd be like having three different energy bars whose lengths you can control. Length of a bar = the amount of burst potential in that school.
The BBFFUU scheme they've arrived at regens *2* of each type per 10 secs, so that's what they're trying to balance around now. But if they find that DKs are still inherently OP(as reports from the beta are suggesting), I hope they consider shifting to the only one rune per type regenning at a time model. That would allow them to go back to allowing players to configure rune balance, which was a kind of playstyle customization I thought had a lot of potential.
Jul 22nd 2008 11:03AM Mad Alchemist's Potion is great because it's cheap to make and works with the Alchemist's Stone buff. I love burning through my mana on my Warlock, Life Tapping twice, and then popping a MAP to be back to nearly full bars.
Does Crazy Alchemist's Potion restore health and mana too? Or is there another Alchy-only health/mana pot? It would be a shame to lose this benefit.
My Feral Druid's favorite consumables are Flask of Chromatic Wonder and Elixir of Major Agi. Is there an upgraded +stats/+resists flask in WotLK? And what's with the utter sidegradeness of the Elixir of Mighty Agility? (+10 Agi but -20 crit!)
Jul 2nd 2008 11:36AM "...traditional casters will be doing the exact same thing they were before. Gearing with their own gear primarily, and then picking up certain pieces of leftover Healing gear because it's better. It's not a problem, though. It's a feature.
The only people this could actually benefit is the Healers themselves."
If the gear that Healers want is wanted by all casters, but the gear that DPS casters want is wanted only by DPSers, that would be very bad for Healers.
Jun 10th 2008 1:46PM "a mere 3.88% of the guilds worldwide are even in Sunwell Plateau"
"only 20% of guilds have even set foot into the Black Temple, with a mere 6.9% of players having downed Illidan."
These statements from the OP, based on data from wowjutsu.com, are incorrect. They should read:
"a mere 3.88% of the raiding guilds worldwide are even in Sunwell Plateau"
"only 20% of raiding guilds have even set foot into the Black Temple, with a mere 6.9% of raiding guilds having downed Illidan."
Wowjutsu.com does not list all guilds, only guilds with at least 10 70's and a certain minimum of gear from Karazhan. This is why the site has shown 99%+ for Karazhan since it launched.
Jun 10th 2008 1:30PM Since weapons can be switched in combat, even auto-switched when changing forms using addons like Outfitter, Warlocks who know what they're doing will want to have in their backpack whichever weapon is most ideal for use while Metamorphosed.
May 30th 2008 11:43PM Mana Thistle can also be found in the areas of Nagrand, Terokkar, SMV, and Netherstorm that require flight.
May 9th 2008 5:44PM I don't know what Starie is smoking -- Prince is tank and spank with some movement. Netherspite is complex to learn but easy to execute, just stand where you're supposed to at roughly the right time. Aran is a mess but aside from an interrupt rotation there's little team play, just DPS/heal and avoid damage.
Maulgar has 5 mobs each of which requires a different tank AND dps strat. Gruul is tank and offtank and spank with some movement, but movement mistakes can directly kill other players, and the overall DPS on the tanks and raid increases linearly over time. Pre-nerf Magtheridon required significant team play, with serious add-management, *synchronized* cube-clicking teams, and timing the ceiling collapse.
May 5th 2008 12:24PM Lots of BOE items were mentioned in the Jewelcrafting and Alchemy sections. Since those can all be easily gotten from the AH, often below the cost of mats due to an oversupply of levelling crafters, they should not even be mentioned in an analysis of what profession to choose. You will have those items regardless.
Alchemy specializations *should* be considered, as well as the BOP Mad Alchemist's Potion -- much cheaper than super mana pots to make, 92% as much mana gained, 110% as much health gained as a super healing pot (for the same pot CD), and sometimes-useful elixir buffs for the times you're not using elixirs. Stacks wonderfully with the Alchy Stone too.
Apr 10th 2008 3:51PM No-one has any information about whether that is correct.
Sites that offer pre-orders have to list an availability date, regardless of whether real data exists as to when the product will be available. It means nothing. When Blizzard announces an actual date the pre-order sites will update with that info.
