Sep 12th 2011 11:56AM Smartphone and tablet gaming's growth is outpacing console gaming growth.
It's obvious that both Amazon and Gamestop will have to chase the tablet and smartphone craze.
By next year, Gamestop will have their own tablet with game rentals or Game download store.
What they need to do is have a system with a gamepad buttons and controls like the Sony Experia Play phone and not go the all touchscreen route.
Jul 30th 2011 5:06PM Nintendo peddling classic games to run on their next gen system. Tell me again why we need to buy the Wii U?
I could run to Gamestop right now and pickup a Gamecube for $30 and games are dirt cheap on ebay.
Jul 30th 2011 4:33PM With console games on the decline and more smartphone games to come from Sega. Dedicated consoles may become like MP3 players and get eclipsed by smartphones.

You mean a company that releases gimmicky system and forcing customers to re-pay for the same classic games is good business?
How many times do we have to re-buy all the 16bit classic and even 64bit classic on current systems?
I know you must love their kool-aid.

Maybe you're just a teenager, this happens all the time when a company performs poorly the CEO takes no pay.
Take Google execs their annual salary is $1 and so is Steve Jobs. What's the point!?
They're all making tons of money though stock ownership!

You're absolutely wrong. Price, 3D issue, and lack of games contributed to the lack of sales.
Who is gonna pay $249 for a system that is weaker than the PSP graphically, 3D that causes issues, and a game library no better than the NGage.
People are gaming on the smartphones for $1 and free games that are more addictive than any 3DS games right now.
They need to charge $99 for 3DS and $5 per 3DS game in order to keep this system going otherwise, it's over you can't compete with smartphone gaming especially casual and freemium games are dominating casuals.

Reggie was giving himself a pat on the back during the 3DS launch and all the Nintendo fanboys were back him up.
I for one thought the 3DS sales sucked in the 1st week because there were plenty of 3DS sitting in store shelves.
Yet, the fanboys said Nintendo over-produce to ensure there is enough supply! What a joke!
Jul 29th 2011 12:53PM Are we gonna have to wait another 9 years for GT5 Mobile?
Jul 28th 2011 12:43PM There's nowhere to go for Nintendo except down. People are tired of the gimmicks they keep using and 3D is no exception.
iOS and Android will dominate the casual portable gaming scene not to mention Google still allows Emulators on the Android Market so people are playing Nintendo classics without having to re-buy them from Nintendo.
For Nintendo to succeed they have to play at the same level as their competitors, there's no more gap or room for gimmicks unless they can find one again.
Sony Vita will take all of the hardcore gaming market and the rest of the folks will be gaming on their smartphones and tablets.
Jun 21st 2011 10:17PM Typical nerds debating and defending their hated or love for Apple.
The casual folks who don't even care about these articles are the ones carrying Apple's dominance and displacing old single minded devices like the Nintendo DS and PSP for iPads and iPhones.
Games for casuals enabled companies like Zynga to outsmart traditional game companies with Freemiums. Eventually the big game companies will follow the same path, it's all about money.
nintendo can stay in denial they are becoming a thing of the past.
